The latest game from Undying King Games, Spanish Main is set among pirates in a slightly fantastical 17th-century Caribbean. Players can be pirates or work for the colonial authorities, armed forces, dockside taverns, merchants... or pretty much anything really -- we want to make a fairly rounded society here, so there can be lots of conflicting goals. The whole thing will be very much in keeping with the tone of Inferno, Mammon Inc and Conclave. As usual in these games, we'll design a background and a load of NPCs and stories, you will each design a character to take their place on the grand stage. The game will last for 18 months or so, and there will be a suitably climactic plot build-up during that time. There will, though, be a few changes from the earlier games. You will submit your orders via a Web form, rather than by post / email. And you will have to include a public version of the results of your actions, which will add up to populate a 'things that the world in general knows about what you've been up to' publicly available dossier. All results will also take the form of Web pages. This is basically to cut down on our GM time -- the trade-off for that is that the game will be much cheaper to play than the post / email games. Subscribing to spanishmain
