From who does Karal find out that (argh mind went blank… his fire cat) has to eat? karal was told by florian (his companion-guide, who made it very clear that karal was not *chosen*) in the early morning after ulrich died. btw, karal's firecat is altra, and solaris' is hansa. anyhoo, florian was explaining to karal the limitations of firecats --> that since altra was sent to karal, then he had to save karal. 1st mention of shin'a'in: hmmm. i *thought* they were mentioned (in a vague sort of way) in the arrows books (i've only read that triology 1-2x), but definitely in magic's promise (van explains to withan that he's actually seen a shin'a'in horse). haven't seen much action on this list lately ... not sure if this is an OT post, but ... as you may have heard, mzb died late last year (oct, i think). while i'll miss her books terribly, i understand that she had been in very poor health for a number of years. mzb once mentioned that she'd *chosen* (*grin*) misty to take over the darkover series ... any one else waiting w/ baited breath to see what misty would do w/ darkover? she had some pretty fun shorts in the various anthologies. siiigh. it's always so difficult to find good authors in the first place, and then i'm reminded that we're all mortal. freddie "because you wandered into a field of lions, little girl, and one of them fell in love with you." I found the page but it is a mistake, it said on page... well I just had the page, Kris' brother had lost his Shin'a'in cross-bred stallions. How did he get a Shin'ain mare in Valdemar? The Shin'a'in didn't go much outside the Dorisha Plains in that time, and definately not as far as Valdemar and most of the horses bought by the other horse traders would've been sold by the time they reached Valdemar, true?
