Note that even Falconsbane used nodes, and he was nothing like the others. The Empire uses nodes, as we learned in Storm Breaking from Tremane AND Charliss. Though it's a bit off-topic, couldn't ALL of the sidhe use nodes (in the SERRArated Edge and Bedlam's Bardz books)? And did they have clear distinctions between Adpet/Master/Journeyman, etc? Bear in mind though that in his Falconsbane incarnation, he was possessing/inhabiting the body of An'desha - ie a Shin'a'in. Which begs the question, is the ability to use node-magic purely training-based, or genetic? ie keyed to the mind or the body?
