Hmmm...how about this? That the relative abundance of Swordsworn is about the same as that of Heralds and Companions? That is, that when there is inminent danger or some special need someone "up there" makes sure there are more of them? It'd match the case in SBreaking. Finally the secrets of Urtho's tower were going to be revealed, and the Swordsworn might be more in demand as a result. As for the Friendship ring, thanks for being persistent, Freedom, and thanks for recreating the ring, Dax! =) Oh, and while I'm at it, on the character thing.....Vanyel....always Vanyel.... Realizing this is the first time I've ever touched the ring I close my eyes in thought of what it meant. Friendship. Those who would offer words of kindness when needed. Those who would give time if asked, even when they don't realy have it to spare. In the past the list has aways been for the most part a group of friends. When we don't get posts we worry... when we stay lurkng too long we itch to talk. Picking one person is sometimes a task that requires much thought. But for me this time it does not. I give this new ring to it's first bearer though one of many in the spirit of this ring.... and that person shall be Li'nia Stormdancer handing it to Li'nia () with a smile and an apolagetic shrug I've never had the ring, so i do not know it's rules. But if I remember correctly you are to keep it for a week and then pass it on to another person on the list. About the only other story of Tarma and Kethry I know of is one in MZB's Sword and Sorceress XII called A Dragon in Distress that was co-written with Elizabeth Waters. All the rest that I know of are in Oathblood. All of the T&K stories were originally in those anthologies, but most of them are out of print now. I got really lucky and managed to track down all of them just before the first one went out of print. On a semi fluffy note I don't know how many of you have checked out firebird arts and music but they are auctioning off the galley proof of Burning Brightly with hand corrected notes by Misty and signed by her and Larry Dixon. She also has several other books up for auction as well as some jewelry and dolls she has made to help support the Alex Foundation which studies African Gray Parrots and uses the research to help aid learning disabled children. Its a worthwhile cause and some of the things Misty has made are really nice. I'm not sure which ones mainly because I don't own any of the books and also because I never read any of them. Oathblood has quite a few of the stories that originated in Sword & Sorceress books, with I believe, one original story. I don't any other source for them, though they do make a cameo performance in By The Sword which centers on Kerowyn's story. I would love to know the answer for this as well if anyone knows any other sources for Tarma and Kethry. -- Andrea ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Feb 2000 19:29:01 -0800 (PST) From: "Li'nia Stormdancer" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: A Thank You... But, I managed to sneak in a few messages here and there to some fellow list-sibs... and then I found this in my in-box today... *Li'nia looks down at the Friendship Ring laying in her palm, and a tear slowly makes its way down her face. She looks back up at Freedom Walker and a huge smile suddenly appears through the tears. She steps forward and embraces Freedom, then steps back and slips the ring on her finger. As a part of its magic, the Ring will always fit the fingers of its current Bearer. Styx, for once, keeps his feline mouth shut, and just twines himself around her legs...* Sorry, all, that this was mostly a fluff message, but my life is going downhill lately, and this is one of those wonderful moments in life when you realize that you do have friends out there, even if we don't even know each other's real names or faces. It's the spirit that counts. Since I feel that way, maybe that explains why I love Misty's works so much... And, Freedom Walker, thank you, my friend... ===== ---<---<---<----+AT+- Li'nia Stormdancer -+AT+---->--->--->--- Peon to the Powers That Be, (Hopeful)Goddess of All Things Possessed, & Caretaker of the Arena of Discussion and Dissention __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
