She picks up the sporks and begins arranging her hair using them, much like you twirl spagetti** Hi-ho everyone! Welladay, friends! Actually, there is a web page that (with Misty's blessing) has not only fanfictions but the Tayledras language. Aside from what you can deduce from the books, they are allowing members to make up works and their definitions. I imagine eventually Misty and the people of the site will step on eachothers' toes, but from what I've seen it looks pretty awesome. I've always enjoyed the languages. In a lot of series everyone seems to speak the same language, "Common" it's often called, but this adds another most real dimention to the books, don't you think? >--- PsionicElf-+AT+-aol.com wrote: >> I know that in in Oathbreakers, there is an index of >> Shin'a'in terms, but >> thats all I know about. >> >I have begun compiling a list of terms from the >series, but it is far from complete. Obviously it doesn't intend to give absolute religious and cultural freedom to the differant groups within Valdemar (i.e. Selenay's insistance that the Holderkin allow the Heralds access to their children), but I don't remember there being any discussion about how "No one true way" plays out when a group's beliefs clashes with the laws of the land. I would like to see Misty explore this topic if hasn't done so already. ~~Fluff~~ A raven glides through the Hall, several unclaimed sporks in its talons. It lands next to a woman who is reclining on an arrangement of large, comfortable pillows. Little does it care that she is engrossed in a book; it croaks loudly, demanding access to its treasure trove. When the cushions are moved to its satisfaction, it deposits the sporks along with the rest of its hoard. The woman blushes at her friend's greed and looks around the Hall seeking the Supreme Ruler of the Spork Empire. "If it pleases your Majesty; my feathered friend is going to go on taking any unclaimed sporks it finds, so would it be possible to appoint it Collector of Unclaimed Sporks? ~~Fluff~~ Runewind Friend to an Un-named Raven ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Mar 2000 16:10:37 -0800 (PST) From: "Li'nia Stormdancer" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: [ML] No one true way Message-ID: <20000311001037.19255.qmail-+AT+-web1206.mail.yahoo.com> Heyla List-Sibs! Sorry, no fluff today! I know, you're all disappointed, but I'll make it up next time! :-) I think it might actually work a little like the United States (can't speak for other countries, as I don't know their laws). We're allowed to practice our religions and beliefs, with the Powers That Be having no say in the matter. However, if national security or people's lives are threatened, then, yes, the PTB will step in and have a say in the matter. Selenay made the statement about the Holderkin because THAT has to do with Valdemar's national security; the Heralds ARE the security of her country. However, I don't recall there being many discussions about the matter, other than Talia discovering it in AotQ, or Misty touching on it a little in the Storm Trilogy. Sorry this isn't a braid, but I'm currently in the middle of a prolonged brain cramp... ====================================================== --- dennis-+AT+-jmf.org.ph wrote: > Are there any discussions in the books regarding the > boundaries of the policy "No one true way"?
