It just didn't seem to fit with her character. I know that I can't imagine what it's like to lose everything like that and to not have many options as a female...I guess I've just always had the philosophy that if there's at least one thing in your life that you love to do then you should do everything in your power to fight to do it, all it takes is one simple thing to make life worth living. WOW! What a great book! I (Being the Mercedes-Lackey-Addict I am) COULDN'T put it down! It's too bad that Mercedes Lackey didn't decide to add on to it and make a trilogy or something because with a character like Kero I bet it would sell just about as many copies as the first one! I LOVED it! If anyone has any comments please add to the thread. ~Spirit-Wind (Nicole Flether, Sharmenian mage, dragon-trainer and rider) http://expage.com/page/stormriderslair/ --------------DEC1A4346748FA854F61B923 Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Heyla!

I believe she was clinging to the Go Out In Style in the Opera as the last element of her personal style and personality which could exist in her now-reduced world. Of course, that's just my opinion, but if you think of it that way, it simply reinforces the personality we all saw in her.
