Re the reincarnated Heralds, well I have seen at Danya Winterborn's site that Florian may be Tashir?. BY THE SWORD: Okay, I reread it last night, and I have a couple of questions. How old do you think Kerowyn was when she was Chosen?. She spent 10 years as a Captain, and when she met Selaney, she said she was a few years older, and Selaney was a Herald before she had Elspeth, and Elspeth must have been 17 or 18, because she was near the end of her training?. That would put her (and Daran come to think of it) at over 30?. Also. I know we have discussed this till we are blue in the face, but I got the distinct impression that Kerowyn and Eldan were lifebonded. They both had the same dreams and talked to each other?. It is either a lifebond, or they must be very strong Mindspeakers in their sleep!. Also, doesn't she say something herself along the lines of "Don't have one, couldn't pay me to have one" in one of the Winds books? Or maybe its referred to in passing in Storm Warning in the hot spring/An'desha tantrum/Elspeth as comforter scene. *shrug* Way to early, and I've spilled two cups of tea already.... Yup...that's one of her spurious complaints in the last 2 or 3 pages of BTS, where she says {major paraphrase coming up}: "And they're sending me to school! School, at my age!" I'm guessing there's stuff she was able to skip or test out of, like arms practice with Alberich :), but there's defintiely things she's going to need to learn, like more precise control of her gift and Valdemaran history. I'm not sure we know, the period involved falls between books so textev is lacking. Really? I always assumed she was a couple years younger-fifteen at most-when she left. (And I thought there was something about her being a year or two older than her brother's bride, who was thirteenish.) Just out of general characterstuff, this is: it'd be a /pretty/ naive seventeen-year-old who needed to have The Talk with Kethry. Not that it makes much difference in the whole scheme of things. I also always thought of her in her early to mid-thirties at the end of the book. Hadn't started to go gray or anything then, or, I think, in Winds of Fate. Again, I could be wrong. I believe the scene is where she is at the top of a really high tower looking out, and she is dressed in Whites, which tells me that they gave them to her, but I do remember the comment about school....I would guess that that would mean training in her Gift, as she had none except the instinctive control she taught herself. Also, for those of you wondering about the Savil/Sayvel relationship....that is also the scene where Sayvel (or Sayvil, as printed in the later books), tells Kero that she should come down from the tower. :feet belong on the ground: she tells her Chosen, which, if you remember, was something Savil always used to say as well.
