I used to be a regular patron of this list, back in the happy golden days before the evil reign of AP classes and standardized conformity tests. However, I got lonely for other fanatics (I say this with love) like myself who would discuss the most wonderful books in the world with me. So here I am, back among your ranks. Hope none of the rules have changed overly much; please be patient with me, I try not to offend. Don't know exactly what the threads are right now, but I'll try to pick up as things go along. My burning question for all of you right now is, what happened to that small group of people preparing personas for Queen's Own? My own persona is still in a sad state of disrepair, but I believe (rather optimistically) that it can be resurrected with a lot of time and a LOT of critiquing. Does that chat circle still exist, and if not, does anyone else have any interest in reforming it? Hope to get reacquainted with all of you soon Julia P.S. Does that random sheep fetish that I remember from previous days still exist, or is it an outdated thing of the past? If it's still around, I wish you all whatever sort of sheep-related thing that would make you happy _______________________________________________________ Get 100% FREE Internet Access powered by Excite Visit http://freelane.excite.com/freeisp ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 May 2000 01:14:39 -0700 (PDT) From: Shane Jonsen To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Magic Electricity Message-ID: <20000515081439.2213.qmail-+AT+-web3904.mail.yahoo.com> didn't they toss lightning around several times, as well as fireballs? Also, there are quite a few references to heating water using magic energy, especially the hot pools in the Tayladras(sp?) vales. seems to me that if you combine magic you could possibly get clean energy, use magic to power steam engines instead of wood or coal... granted i'm all for keeping the Valdemir books pre industrial, but still, it's fun to think about how magic might improve/make worse, technology...sorry if this is rather disjointed...it's quite late at night as i'm writing this...
