As Bob Dylan said, the times, they are a-changin'; the Companions will have to do the same in order to keep up. But was this "Guardian Spirit" thing common knowledge in Valdemar before Vanyel's time? Any text-ev on that from LHM? If it wasn't, presumably the Companions could repeat whatever tricks they used then, if they so choose. As I recall a shaman decided NOT to tell the Heralds because they didn't want to interfere with the prerogative of another God - I've wondered if some of the magicians (those of a level/experience to tell) also thought that way.... actually, isn't that what Griffon decides as well? In other words, Companions may not have to actively make people "forget" that they are spirit beings, those in the know may decide it's a matter of prudence not to tell others of their discovery. As manipulative as the companions have been, it could be that there are things they don't necessarily actively manipulate ... rather, they may take advantage of a given situation. *sending bouncing sheep that sing show tunes to all who want 'em* Beta'lis ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Jun 2000 14:12:13 -0700 (PDT) From: Freedom Walker To: Misty List Subject: a slight B*t*h fest Message-ID: <20000614211213.19009.qmail-+AT+-web1103.mail.yahoo.com> Heyla list and wow.... NOT TO POST THE WHOLE BLASTED LETTER THAT IS 6K LONG TO BEGIN WITH.... thanx an amazing amound on ONE LINERS and one paragraph messages that could have cut the amazingly high amount of time and MONEY I had to spend to GET those 700 messages.... if they were BRAIDED!!!!!!!!! I could actually only have to check one place (which would be a relief) my contemplations of unsubbing from the list after what like five years on would stop and I would be able to check the list often enough that I wasn't answering or posting from months ago.... but then I don't have room to talk sense I have hardly any respect or notice or voice on this list at all anyway.... I guess that's what I get for staying ON for so long instead of off and on and off and on... you think loyalty and persistance for the better of the list for five years of continued observance and posting would be rewarded by some notice..... nope not one person that I "know" or even anyone who remembers me says a hello or you go girl or even makes a comment edgewise my way.... sense this is going to be long enough I think I'll leave this relevent to my B*t*h fest and post on the misty and web page on a seperate one... otherwise this would be "too long" of a braid.... >From the Desk of, Captain Freedom Justice Walker of the FireSister __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? What the Companions didn't want them to know was that they

As you ought to be able to see from the "Name" section of this email, I'm acting as Misty's secretary. This is an experimental attempt by Misty and Highflight to have a more accessible public face. As such, I have subscribed to this list, and the major couple at egroups.com. The reason for using a hotmail.com email address is that should it be abused, we can drop the idea, and forget about it. Though sometimes it feels like I'm the last person to find things out with highflight, I can act as an information source; and a hopefully accurate means of keeping you up to date on news and such. One source of reference that is worth looking at if you haven't already is firebirdarts.com; as they tend to archive news material on Misty and her books. Forthcoming at some point in the near future we hope, and it seems likely that herald.co.uk will be hosting, is Misty's own website. No doubt I'll be trying to keep the information on there up to date as well. So.. a few points to make. 1> Don't ask personal or private questions; since if I choose to answer them, I almost certainly will do so in public. I don't really want to duplicate the "ask misty" section of firebird, since that's a perfectly good medium for asking questions of misty (in)directly. Questions about book releases, and pokes at the pedant in me for chapter and verse on text might work though. Especially if I can get my paws on a copy of the text in question. (Though no doubt somebody has hidden all copies of that item just to spite me). 2> I'm human. Please don't forget that. I make mistakes. If I'm busy explaining why vanyel was actually bright green I've probably made a mistake. Clearly I was thinking of Firesong. 3> I have a warped sense of humo(u)r. (See above). Live with it. 4> Misty does not read this or any other list herself. There are good reasons for this. 5> Please remember that though we would all like to have as much communication with the fans as possible, it's not actually what we do to make a living. Please bear with me as I am somewhat sporadic (especially when away from base) at getting to the email here. 6> A big thanks to Mel for making all this possible!
