In O- and BB, there isn't > really any hard-core stuff Keisha and Daren are > together, but not in detail, << What sexual relationships? We have never seen them! The only "sex" scene I can think of is between Elspeth and Darkwind in "Winds of Change" and Talia and Kris in "Arrow's Flight". And Skif and Nyara in the first Winds book. Okay, maybe she does have "love" scenes. But they are very tastefully done with no graphic descriptions or anything. I don't think of Misty's books as having sex scenes and would be very disappointed if she started including them. I'm not interested in reading about sex, I'm interested in reading about people and their problems and triumphs. If I wanted sex, I'd pick up any run-of-the-mill romance book. In fact, I think it's refreshing to focus on the characters and not what they do in bed. It would get boring after awhile. I mean how many times can you write "And they soared together like two hawks as they joined..." Hell, I'd even love to see a book where there *isn't* a pairing or love bond. I know that love is a major part of everyone's lives and it's something to live for and blah blah blah. But truthfully, I want to read a book where the heroine or hero *doesn't* get the prince or princess, or where the hero or heroine isn't even (horrors!) interested in love. In all of her Valdemar books, Misty has managed to have some love interest. I want to see one without. But, of course, I'm a cynic about love. Somewhere along the way, my "romance" switch got turned off. (I can't stand to watch those trite, cliche, stupidly fuzzy soft romantic comedies. Ick, ick, ick!) Or even a fantasy book which looks at the meaning of the universe and the exhistence of life??!!! What a novel idea!!! Back, foul fiend! No one wants to contemplate why we exist or what life is for! Those are troubling topics! Heaven forbid someone tackle that topic in a fantasy setting! ~Reanna (who hopes no one was offended with her rather strident opinion) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? "hardcore" Message-ID: <20000705170744.29790.qmail-+AT+-web4802.mail.yahoo.com> Heyla, Laura said it best with the most explaination. The romances are just there, no developement, haven't read Owlknight yet but started it at the library, they suddenly were together, too fast for me. Question, a friend and I have been pondering this for a few years it feels like, there's a quote, it's really good, and we can't figure out where it's from, could be from Misty, but it could be from any other of the hundreds of other authors we read, it's like, "if you have to pay for it, you don't deserve it". Where's it from? It sounds like Kero but it was like to servants talking and a character overheard it. Any help will be much appreciated in unraveling this mystery. "OK, that song by Vertical Horizon may not explain lifebonds but I found one by Great Big Sea that explains Lavan's point-of-Choosing perfectly!!!! You know the song probably, maybe, well fine! Many of you probably don't even know about Great Big Sea... it's called 'Can't Stop Falling', it goes: "oh no, I can't stop falling/my heart betrays me/and I know I start to feel it all again/won't someone save me?..." At the very least that is like invasion of privacy, even if you did give your information to just one person. That seems like it would be the same thing as if a magazine printed something personal about you without your permission. Rebecca Paustinnew-+AT+-aol.com wrote: Listsibs -- a moment of your time.
