I'm getting the first 4 books thru Doubleday Book club because I can't afford them otherwise. It's part of my enrollment to the club. I don't feel like fighting the kids at the library trying to get them. The Lynn Flewelling books have peeked my interest so now I'm going to have to either check my local library or used bookstore. I will at least check out the first one to see if they are my usual style. -- Trinity In a message dated Thu, 13 Jul 2000 1:05:04 PM Eastern Daylight Time, XShadowXBladeIX-+AT+-aol.com writes: << In a message dated 7/7/00 10:12:58 AM Central Daylight Time, christie-+AT+-ch.twi.tudelft.nl writes: << sorry, book 1: luck in the shadows book 2: stalking darkness book 3: traitors moon (haven't read that one yet, it's only just out) i hope somebody will enjoy them as i did, and by the way: they are perfect for a nice long evening on the coach, dreaming, with a nice glass of wine or something. enjoy. greetz, christie. >> I love them books. Haven't been lurking, just on vacation! Someone (sorry, dunno who) mentioned Windrider as a legendary hero. This got me wondering, because I always thought Darshay was the guy and Windrider the Companion. His name is first, but when I think about it, Sunsinger 'sings back the magic to Windrider's hands.' Not only do Companions not have magic, they don't have hands. But who would name their son Windrider? Or is this a nickname, like Demonsbane or Shadowstalker? He could have been called after the coat of arms. Beside the point, I have a theory that whichever one of them was closely related to King Valdemar (son, grandson)because it was an old song in Vanyel's time, and near the Founding, very few of the Valdemarans besides Valdemar's line would have been mages. (He brought along his people, who would have been peasants, buut if they had substantial magic, they wouldn't have been peasants. Oops! Wrote more than I intended to. Hope ya didn't get bored! Merry winged sheep to all, and to all a good knight!
