So I would assume they can have lifebonds between Companions as well. >> So, to ask what may seem a foolish question, Is Brightly Burnings part of the HoV series, and - if so where, chronologicaly, does it fall? I have seen it on the shelf, but, as I was focused on making my way through the HoV series as close to chronologicaly as possible, I haven't paid it any attention. Help? Part of the lifebond is a deep connection between the two partners; maybe this is augmented by a mind-magic Gift, and can be felt more deeply by Gifted than not. Then unGifted could lifebond, but just wouldn't feel the bond on the same level as a Gifted pair would, so maybe they wouldn't give it the name. Any thoughts? >> I have several thoughts on this subject, the question is: Are you speaking purely in the realm of Valdemar, or in the real world? I'm still new to the list and am not sure about the protocol, yet, this is why I ask this question, because my answers would vary greatly accordingly. Zhai'helleva! I was just wondering which god/goddess Baron Valdemar got the companions from. >> Heyla, Friend! According to the Chronicals, King Valdemar prayed to all the gods and goddesses to give to him the way to guarantee that his kingdom would continue to run as it had been running - with honor, truth, and the welfare of the People most important. Those Gods and Goddesses responded by sending forth the first three Companions. It is never said what Gods/Goddesses were involved, but one has to wonder if "all" of the dieties weren't involved after reading the series. It would make sense, after all - Valdemar being the one Kingdom that accepted all forms of religion (within reason). Why wouldn't those Dieties do a small thing like create the Companions in return for Valdemar's protection of their followers? It wasn't intervention, after all....and they DID ask for it.....and the Kingdom could have fallen to ruin were it not for them.... Okay, so it's bending the whole "Free Will" rule all over the realm, but it's a thought. Yes, and it's after LHM, but before V&H. I don't think this is a spoiler, so I'm not making spoiler space for it. =) Shads (not long enough for my full sig) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Jul 2000 20:37:15 EDT From: Chaos514-+AT+-aol.com To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: getting off the list Message-ID: How do I get off this list? ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Jul 2000 00:54:24 -0700 (PDT) From: Tessa Raethen To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Lifebonds Message-ID: <9336630.964857264447.JavaMail.imail-+AT+-goochy.excite.com> TAZ writes: <> Don't worry, we were all newbies once!
