Delurking for a bit... Sara said: <> :) Names have always fascinated me, so I have noticed this too. You would think that there would be children named after heros like Vanyel, or even little Kerowyns or Kethrys running around somewhere too. But I bet that the reason there isn't is to keep readers from being confused, or demanding that people have been reincarnated. =] TAZ said: <> (snip) <> Wow! That's fascinating. I've had memories and dreams and such that I can only attribute to a past life, but nothing like you have. That's impressive. And a little annoyance that I have noticed. Have any of the rest of you come to the conclusion like I have that whoever writes the blurb on the back covers of Misty's books did not even read the book itself? Because they have nothing to do with the story!!! Sorry I flared... oh well, peppermint sheep to everyone! ~Lady Ember~ ----------------------------------------------- FREE! Because they have nothing to do with the > story!!! Sorry I flared... The back of MPawn says something about a Shin'a'in Adept. I have no idea how that could have happened, as there is no *mention* of Shin'a'in in the entire book. To add insult to injury, Shin'a'in shamans (shamen?) aren't ranked. *gripefest over* Is that the one you meant? It seems that a lot of books have inaccurate summaries, but that's the worst I'd ever seen. If I hadn't read Oaths first, I wouldn't know what they were talking about! *second gripefest over, I'm done, I mean it!* Are there gods/goddesses out there who aren't worshipped? Or would being worshipped make them real? In the T&K stories, I think Oathblood, there was a story about the girl who could become a bear because she believed she could, get my point? Well, I've come to the conclusion that they are written by someone that skimmed the book, then editted by three separate people that haven't even looked at it, and never given back to anyone that even skimmed the book to see if they vaguely resemble reality... but that's just me. Anyways, I was wondering... I'm looking for the music to Windrider Unchained, so I journeyed to firebirdarts.com and I found that the Shadow Stalker CD has the song on it, but I was looking at the songbook to go with it, and came up with a few questions. First of all "work in progress." They're selling a work in progress? Or has the blurb simply not been updated in a while? The other question is regarding the guitar chords. I know nothing about guitar chords, but I'm wondering if it's possible to play them on my harp... I have a folk harp, and only the C and F strings *can* be sharped, and changing sharping levers in the middle of a piece doesn't sound like fun. So I guess I'm wondering what key they're in, but I'm not sure because I don't know much about music. Also, I'd be curious what key the melody line is in. If anyone has access to that information, I'd greatly appreciate it. Liseth ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 2368 **********************************
