Message-ID: <3083-39B33A8B-7133-+AT+-storefull-614.iap.bryant.webtv.net> Heyla everyone, My name is Greg and I'm new to the group. I don't have a pseudonym yet but if I had to choose one it would be Tylendel. I think Mercedes Lackey is a fine writer who gives her characters depth. My two favorite series are the Bard series and Valdemar. I have enjoyed the Valdemar series the most. I especially enjoyed the prequel that told the story of the time before Valdemar and Skandranon, Amberdrake and the rest. I think I've babbled enough so I'll get to the point. I'm hoping that the Valdemar series goes on for a long time. There is,however, one more prequel I would like to see. I would like to see a series written on the founding of Valdemar. I think Misty could show the difficulties the heralds probably had during the early years. I think if anyone can do this Misty certainly can. Please tell me what you think. Zhai'helleva 'lendel P.S. I guess I'll try a name to use in the group after all. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Sep 2000 00:59:50 -0700 (PDT) From: Amanda Carlston To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Something I would like to see. Personally, I'm a fan of the Urban Fantasies, with my favorite characters being Kory and FX. Just a warning...you should probably look for a different name to take on here. Tylendel is one of Misty's characters and it's considered rude (and probably against the rules as well, and possibly illegeal) to take one of her characters as a name for the mailing list. [-snip-] Greg, I have been reading Mercedes Lackey books for the past 4-5 years, a friend of mine referred her Last Herald Mage trilogy books. The second I started reading I was hooked, I immediately went out and purchased every Mercedes Lackey book that dealt with Valdemar. I 100% agree with you, I would love to see some books that showed the founding of Valdemar, and perhaps some more books in the Mage War era. Oh and btw I am new to the list here, my name is Brian and I am from Milwaukee, WI. I've been reading and re-reading Mercedes books for years now. For me it all started with Magic Pawn. I read that and went out and bought just about everything in print, and haunted the bookstores for each new one. I love reading and dont' think I've ever found another author that can trasport me into a story the way Mercedes can. I would actually be hard pressed to choose a favorite as each series has its own unique appeal. Happy Reading Folks! It also tells you what those sheep are about, and what those acronyms are for and what do you call yourself. *whew!* Tons of info! So if you haven't been there, or haven't been there for a while, please stop by and renew your acquaintence! We look forward to all the discussions and remain, your helpful Councilors.
