After re-reading most of them I have come up with a tentaive time-line - Objections and correcttions are welcomed - as long as there is some reasoning behind them *s*. "Children of the Night" (DT) - This has the identifiable 'event' in it. Twice it mentions "Watergate" in the context of it occuring. This pins "CotN" down to around 1973. DT also mentions that she completed college around 2 yrs ago. "Buring Water" - no definate date but after "CoTN" and before "Jinx High" (refs in JH to events in BW (won't give exact text as may contain spoliers)) "Jinx High" - has old college buddies of DT. Their son Deke has no age given but (a) drives a car and (b) has a 17yr girlfriend. Therefore he probaly is around 17. This means that JH could be set anywhere beteen 15 - 25 yrs after "CotN". Probably it is somewhere around 15 - so lets say 1988/9. Serra - Tannim went to school with Deke - therefore (for him to be a racecar driver) it would have to be at least 5, but proably not more than 15 yrs later (as he is refferd to a a young guy). So if we say 10 - then it is set around 1988/9. From refs in Chrome Circle - I think that the books all took place within about a year of each other (but I could be wrong *s*) Eric & Co - There is a ref in CC to trouble with elves in Southern California, and them needing the help of humans - and it sounds fairly recent, so I would say this also takes place around 1988/9. *phew* If anyone wants to comment - feel free. I just wanted to see if there was any logical connection. However I could be totally wrong - and Misty could have ignored time scale in writting these books....
