I don't really have much to say, but from the silence neither does many other people. I'm a bit obsessed with Vanyel also. He is my favorite char out of all the books. I'm going to be Vanyel for Halloween, sort of. You can probably tell from my name that I'm female. I'm pretty much just going to be a Herald, and tell my friends that I'm Kero. (They've all read the books too.)I just kind of think of the costume as Vanyel. :) I'm 14, BTW, still young enough to go to dress-up parties if not Trick or Treating. Definately my favorite. I read all three of those books in one 18 hour binge back when I was in 8th grade. I'm graduating from college in 7 months. God save me... But as for the costuming thing, I do theatrical costume design, and did my stint in the SCA as well. I found that the costume I liked picturing Van and the Heralds in th best was a variation on early 17th century Russian noblity riding get-up. One of my fencing friends was handsome, 25, and gifted with bright red wavy hair down to his waist, and we actually managed to bribe him to wear the stuff once. It works very nicely. ;) Eilis Siobhan Maire Ni Muineachain > Heyla listsibs! I don't really have much to say, but > from the silence neither does many other people. I heard rumour a few years back that it went out of print because Misty was furious that they had chosen -not- to use Jody Lee's cover art. I know I'm committing a sin saying this, but I always though Van looked too young Lee's covers, and what was up with a pink Yfandes?! However, I thought the cover art for that hard bound edition was the best artistic rendering of Van I had ever seen. Its when he's older and there's a lot of silver in his hair. He's looking very sad and has his arm coming under Yfandes head to rest on the side of her neck. Yfandes and his Whites are all done in very natural shades of white and grey, and in the darkness of the mists roiling behind them you can just barely make out the shapes of the Wyrsa, the crow-creatures from Magic's Price, and other changeling creatures. Its just amazing! Have any of you seen this edition, and if so what did you think of the cover? And does anyone know who the artist is? I think I'd just about sell my soul for a print of that piece... Obviously Jody Lee has never seen a picture of an albino horse (the pictures, stories, and even descriptions of these true WHITE horses, due to the rarity of thier pigment disorder, are very far and few) and has fallen to the common misconception that when someone is speaking of a WHITE horse they really mean a GREY. I have a feeling Misty has seen (or at least heard of) these far from common horses because they match the description of her Companions perfectly! The white coat, the blue eyes, the silver hooves and tail... that's the exact description of the elusive albino-colored horse! But as to the second one, well, most of us have invented alter-egos that we let loose on the MLML. I have my persona, but when I joined, all I had was a name I made up. I still don't have an official persona; I keep it all in my head. The only thing you have to do is clear certain titles, like being a God or Goddess of something... The NewbieFest should cover the address of that site. Now I have a question... Someone, I can't remember who, mentioned that they were a "scadie". Just out of curiousity, is that someone who goes to the Southern College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia? I live there now, so I was just wondering... lol ===== ---<---<---<----+AT+- Li'nia Stormdancer -+AT+---->--->--->--- Peon to the Powers That Be, (Hopeful)Goddess of All Things Possessed, & Caretaker of the Arena of Discussion and Dissention __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
