If Gwena is groveborn, does she appear or is she born from other Companions and where does her personality come from >> Grove-born companions APPEAR IN THE GROVE. That's why they're called GRAVE-BORN. If they were born from other Companions, they wouldn't be called that. << Isn't it feasible that the Monarch's Own's Companion could get reincarnated into another Grove-Born body? That makes sense to me, what do the rest of y'all think? >> No. Not at all! Grove-born companions, since Founding, have never been reincarnated. Obviously, there couldn't have been heralds to reincarnate into grove-born companions for the original Companions - and it says in one of the Winds books (WOFate?) when Elsepeth is complaining about destinies, that because Gwena is grove-born, she doesn't have any real human experience to draw one - meaning grove-borns are -NOT reincarnated,- same as its been since Founding. << btw, if there aren't any dead Heralds who want to come back at the time a Companion is to be ensouled, where do they get the spirit to animate the body? >> That wouldn't ever happen. You know Heralds; they're too altruistic for their own good. If there was a shortage, they'd all start jumping at the chance to volunteer! And with over a millenea of dead heralds and companions, there should be plenty of selection! << Usually this is phrased as "Is the Star-eyed the consort of the God of Iftel.">> Its a possibility. When Karal mention's Vkandis's consort, it says her name was KALENAL, but she'd been forgotten over the years... Tell me that that doesn't look suspiciously like Kal'enel? And we know that She has other Names... such as Windbown (OB). "I'd fly away and live in a dream. I long for freedom, the sky is calling - To earth I'm bound. I've folded my wings, I wont soar again. I'm tired of flying, tired of falling All the way down." ~*~ Claire de Loon ~*~ ------------------------------------------------------------ Lab Arc Designs - http://www.labarc.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Oct 2000 00:14:43 GMT From: "Charlotte DiStefano" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: MIST: One-liners and snipping Message-ID: Heyla all, *Lightsong de-lurks from under a massive pile of papers, with a triumphant smile Anyone else think college profs assign too much work, all at the same time? :P* I have kind of a random question for anyone who has been around long enough to know the answer. Does anyone remember a "You Know You've Been Reading Too Much Misty When..." list that was on the website like, a year or so ago (maybe more)? Is it still there and I just can't find it, or is it not there anymore? Does anyone have a copy of it? Thank you! Here is a link that has several lists on it. http://www.angelfire.com/ak3/valdemar/lists.html OB Misty: I have seen several folks mention that the Skif story has been postponed for her to write a Collegium series. 1: Where is this info coming from? Is it true or just a rumor? and 2: Wouldn;t this be a lot like the Harry Potter books out now ( a student going through several years of school)? Samhain sheep to all!
