Other Heralds do tend to lose it when their Companion dies, though (i.e. Tylendel and Lavan). I don't think the MOC/MO bond is any weaker, but the MOC is a rather special Companion. Maybe being Grove-born has something to do with it? Who knows? lol And we don't read too much about Companions who lose their Heralds, but didn't Tylendel's Companion (sorry, forgot the name!) commit suicide once she "lost" the bond to her Chosen? I know she repudated (sp?) him, but she still lost her Chosen. ===== ---<---<---<----+AT+- Li'nia Stormdancer -+AT+---->--->--->--- Peon to the Powers That Be, (Hopeful)Goddess of All Things Possessed, & Caretaker of the Arena of Discussion and Dissention __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Not everything has to have a logical explanation, right? :) And we > don't read too much about Companions who lose their > Heralds, but didn't Tylendel's Companion (sorry, > forgot the name!) commit suicide once she "lost" the > bond to her Chosen? Anyone is totally free to disagree with me on this, but I had always thought that Gala's suicide was due partially to the loss of her Chosen, but also due to her feelings of guilt. I imagine she felt (because in someways she was) rather responsible. Its horrible to see someone you love die, even if you're furious with them, but to know/think that their death is your fault or that you could have prevented it? :( Enough sad thoughts... I just sent off my eighth job application for employment when I graduate. Here's to not starving and living on the street in May. ;) ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 2435 **********************************
