In AotQ, there is a scene where Talia meets Selenay after Beltren's 'memorial ceremony', so it seems that there is some sort of ceremony to celebrate/commemorate the life of the Herald. I remember another scene when she meets the lover/friend of the deceased (sorry can't remember and can't find the scene at the moment). It would be interesting to know whether such ceremonies were held for Companions as well - since they are 'human in a horse shaped body' to the Heralds, do they get treated as such if they die of disease or injury?
