The paperback will be out May 2001, one year after the hardcover was released, which is pretty standard. (My roommate works for Penguin, which is really Penguin/Putnam/Daw/Berkeley/etc, so he asked someone in the editorial offices of DAW Books.) As someone else on the list said, it's a one-shot, filling in a chapter of Valdemar history. My roommate also said that their next book with her, SERPENT'S SHADOW, will be out, in hardback, in March 2001. (BEYOND WORLD'S END, which I think is supposed to come out earlier in the year, is with Baen.) I cracked open the Silver Gryphon the other day and I was looking at the illustration on the front cover and I mean REALLY looking. Then, I noticed that Blade bore an uncanny resemblance to Tarma... so I picked up my handy ol' copy of Oathblood in order to make sure I wasn't losing it... and it was then that I noticed that not only does Blade look like Tarma, she looks like Kethry! And the three of them all bear some odd resemblance to Cher! I'm losing it, yes, but I thought someone would be amused by this so I decided to post anyway.
