After all, that is how Misty got her start, thru established anthologies. Misty is allowing her creations to morph with other great writers, and I've seen a few such as Josepha Sherman and Mark Shepard (?) go a step further with the Bardic Choices and Serrated Edges series. I've become fans of other authors because of Misty. I wasn't much of a fan of Anne McCaffrey until I bought the book The Ship Who Searched, and that book got me reading the entire series which led me to read the Rowan, Damia, etc. series. Misty happens to be a very popular writer and her support and influence has helped a lot of great writers get heard. I'm sure some would have found their voices eventually but Misty gave them the leg up that she got from MZB. Though in all honesty, I haven't read many MZB books. I found Misty all on my own because when I was a teenager. I had a thing for reading books about strong female warriors and Kethry and Tarma were my girls at the time. I have yet to find a book by Misty that I haven't liked though there were a few that took awhile to get thru. Misty seems to have her own entire bookcase (small of course) all to herself.
