It's been a few years since I have read it and I think that I need to refresh my memory. I tried to find it myself, but I and internet handicapped and didn't have much luck. Besides this might help some of the Newbies who are to shy to ask where it might be. OBMisty, Has anyone else who read the Vows and Honors Series noticed how often Misty mentions Warrls hieght. She says "About up to Tarmas waist" about a zillion times. almost every time that Warrl puts in an appearence(which is a lot in these books). I wonder why she felt compelled to remind us so often. Although that would be pretty hard to imagine with his mind speech. But, since, i think it is the first time the Kyree are mentioned in her Velgarth series, she was probably trying to make an impression of what this race was like. Okay must go back to school work, a physics lab is calling my name. Message-ID: <> Well, not necessarily. Keep in mind the circumstances of Kris's death--not only did he die violently, which is bad enough, but he died protecting Talia, in a situation that might have been avoided if Talia had decided to pull out sooner. And immediately following his death she was raped, imprisoned, and tortured, and almost killed herself. Lifebond or no, would it really be as traumatic an experience as Dirk passing quietly and painlessly in his sleep at some ripe old age? I'm inclined to believe not. It's also worth noting that, at this point, knowing that she's already experienced her greatest sorrow and her greatest joy might actually be a little comforting. After all she's lived through thus far, I'd think Talia would rather have good, steady contentment than any more emotional roller-coastering. It seems Dirk needed a >little help recognizing that she might also have feelings for him. That, and I think she was also helping to assuage some survivor guilt. I imagine that it has at least crossed Dirk's mind that if he hadn't had pneumonia, he would have been the natural choice to go with Kris on the diplomatic mission to Hadorn. Meaning that, on the one hand, Talia would never have been captured and, on the othe hand, that he might have been in a position to save Kris. In fact, I think when Talia gets the assignment, Kyril or whoever is speaking to her says that he planned to send Kris, and that, since Dirk, Kris's normal partner on diplomatic assignments, is sick, he's decided to send Talia with Kris instead. and Becca writes: >Anyways, my point is that Her greatest sorrow IS losing Kris. > >on a related note, does that mean that she is going to die before Dirk. >Becuase then her greatest sorrow would be losing Dirk. That was my thought, too. And that her son Jemmie will probably outlive her, as well. Not that I would exactly count on that if I were either of them. I do, anyway. Warrl tends to shrink in my mind. Well I have nothing important to say... Might as well just mail my ha'penny worth of opinion... Actually, I credited it to the fact that, originally, the first book of that duology took form as a series of short stories published seperately. Since they weren't originally bound together, details like that need mentioned. Consider a person reading the publication that, say, the 5th story was published in. The read that story and, if they aren't told, they may consider that Warrl is about the height of an average dog... Just my 2 dancing pennies... Shoe-fly pie sheep to all...
