Message-ID: Heyla everyone, Erin-yeah, this list has been rather quiet. It gets like this sometimes. I don't know about everyone else, but I have been so busy with school I have barely had time to think about anything else. lol On the subject of books other than the Velgarth books, I really liked the Di Tregard novels. They aren't exactly the same as the Velgarth books, but I thought they were great. ObMisty (I actually have one, can you believe it!)...I was re-reading AFlight the other day, and I noticed somthing. While Talia and Kris are out on circut, they recieve news that Alberich has retired as weaponsmaster, turning things over to Jeri. In one of the Winds books (I think it's WoFate, but I don't have my books here to check) Elspeth says that the common consensus among the students is that it is bad enough that Alberich refuses to get old and retire, but now he has cursed them with a female counterpart, talking about Kerowyn. That is close as I can come to the actual quote from memory. Starshadow, sonce you love me oh so much, you wanna look it up for me? *Lightsong smiles and tries to look cute* Anyway, I was just wondering what people thought about that. Okay, back to doing reading for my Russian history class. *sigh* Crazy college life sheep to you all, ~Lightsong Royal Defender of the Brat Dame of OoAM She'enedra to Starshadow ~ ~ Do not live merely in harmony, and some say, but in melody. ~ ~ _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 09 Feb 2001 06:52:50 -0000 From: "Molly McAllister" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: hello??? Well, in AFlight, I remember because I just finished re-reading it, it does say that Alberich retired "from teaching all but the most advanced students" I would assume that since Elspeth was doing so well in the training she would probably one of these and thus still be under Alberichs tutledge. This is just pure speculation of course. I don't know. Well, it is off to go d tons of history reading (yeah!) ahhhh, college life. never a dull moment. chocolate sheep to all, WTTW, Starshadow* Royal Defender of the Brat She'enedra to Lightsong _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2001 05:08:17 -0800 (PST) From: "Li'nia Stormdancer" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Book Recommendations... Personally, I am a huge fan of Misty's Di Tregarde Investigations. IIRC, there's 3 books in that series (Children of the Night, Burning Water, Jinx High). There won't be any more; if you have any questions about that series, refer to several articles at www.firebirdarts.com. Those books are have been classified as mystery/occult... I think... lol Also, the SERRAted Edge series is very good. Misty shows good taste in music and locations here, and displays a wicked sense of humor sometimes. These books take place in our world, plus some additions like magic, elves, etc. There is another set of books (Knight of Ghosts and Shadows, Summoned to Tourney, and Beyond the World's End) that takes place in our world, again with several additions. Misty has the wonderful habit of linking her series together; you'll see mention of Di Tregarde in the SERRAted Edge books, and references to the SERRAted Edge books in the other series. Anywho, that's my recommendations for you and/or any other people who are looking for a few good reads... ===== ---<---<---<----+AT+- Li'nia Stormdancer -+AT+---->--->--->--- Peon to the Powers That Be, Goddess of All Things Possessed, & Caretaker of the Arena of Discussion and Dissention __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
