I enjoy this list very much and want you to know that your input about favorite books means a lot to me as I am now beginning to read many of them you suggested.  Can you please send me names of more books to read non Mercedes Lackey. I have read all of Mercedes works and am totally enrapt by her worlds.  On a side note: I have often imagined that they were real... do anyone else think this? I have often wondered about this.

Good Day to You All

Volsky is a "historical fantasy" writer (whatever that means) and McKinley spins some beautiful modern renditions of fairy tales (with good twists and strong female roles). As for series type books... I've just began to read Roger Zelazny's Amber series and it's pretty good so far (and a classic). Hope that help's ya out! Why Misty? read the NewbieFest! *giggle* We're all one big happy insan....uh, family here! There are two pages that will help you with the list and help answer some of those pesky questions. The first, Mel's Rules of Thumb, are at http://www.herald.co.uk/local_info/rules_thumb.html It's a short page, and talks about the the do's and don'ts of the list The second page, the NewbieFest, will give you a little more of a feel towards the list, and help you out with things like, "What's up with the sheep?". *grin* It's located at http://www.ling.udel.edu/hyde/pers/misty/newbiefest.html If you would like an email copy of the Newbie Fest, let me know and I'll get it to you ASAP. Also, you may want to read about some of the abbreviations we use on the list, such as "YKYRTMMLW..." or "ObMisty". You can find a list of all of the abbreviations you'll ever see used on the list at: http://www.ling.udel.edu/hyde/pers/misty/abbrev.html If you at any time have any other questions, feel free to voice them on the list, or ask myself or one of the other Councilors (we have our titles in our signatures) privately :). We'd be glad to help Oh, one last thing..you need to turn off html when you are sending messages to the list, the listserver, Vanyel, doesn't like html, so it adds all kinds of hard to read stuff to your messages. *grin* Wind to thy Wings, Dax the Eternal, Councilor of Mist, Goddess of Elves and Unicorns, Knight of Fluff Evangelist of Low Humor, Mistic Watcher of Continuity NewbieFest: http://www.ling.udel.edu/hyde/pers/misty/newbiefest.html HomePage: http://www.grayhaven.org ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 2560 **********************************
