That's very interesting, because I actually feel exactly the opposite. It's one of the reasons I like reading series: I like seeing the same people, and I especially like seeing what happens to them after "happily ever after," and discovering more about people who were side characters. I see what you mean about characters stealing scenes and not the whole play, but I tend to think that everyone has at least one good story in them. Then again, I'm a historian, not an actor, and that was one of the things that attracted me to history: there's always something more that happens, there's always a whole story to learn about someone who is a minor character in someone else's life, and there's always another way of looking at the same events.
