It makes for interesting contrasts. I got the Arrows series shortly after the last one came out - and have been addicted ever since. I don't own the arrows, oath, or LHM series in hardback, but I've got everything else she's done in hard back (short story collections not included) - I call it a worthwhile investment since I reread them so much - I'm currently rereading the arrows series for the bazillionth time - just 'cause. Picked up Serpent's Shadow last week. Twas OK. I liked it better than Firebird and Black Swan, but put it on the same level with Fire Rose - very similar plot lines - smart woman, railing against the position society places her in, etc... Was annoyed at the bad guy being named Simon AGAIN. Thought Misty could have come up with something better. Oh so picky are we the readers... Okay - back to the shadows of lurkdom. Needless to say I finished it that night and went back to the store to buy the rest of series and the other Misty books they had there. I just finished The Serpent's Shadow (which I liked immensely) and I'm about to start Beyond World's End, does anyone know when the Skif book is going to be released? Well I'm 19 years old, and am in the thridd year of a Law/Accountancy degree at University. I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia (where they're shooting the scooby-doo movie!). However, I don't think of myself as 'adult' - I still watch anime (NOT japanese cartoons as my sister likes to call them :)) and have stuffed toys. Umm.. my first lackey experience was.... I think buying by the sword and bedlam's bard in a shop... or borrowing Magic's pawn from the library. I have most of her books now, some of htem are bought new (mainly the newer ones) however I have been lucky enough to find quite a few in second hard stores - and once I have been though them there aren'e any left! (expect all the ones I already have) I just finished Serpants Shadow... It IS a little like fire rose, but I like it anyway - just not ehough to buy it anytime soon (thank goodness for a library that acknowledges the worth of the great goddess misty *s*)Yes, I too wonder about the name "simon" who with that name pissed her off? *giggle* Um ObMisty.... Ah! taking about when here nest book will be released, well... in the front of Serpant it mentions four new titles that are 'forthcoming' "take a thief" (anyone else think this is the Skif book???) "knight's gambit (Alberich????) and "phoenix and ashes" and "the gates of sleep" (as these are listed directly under serpant in the front I am guessing that these are a continutation!)
