Great big spoilers for Storms follow.

what I can recall, his spirit and those of his companions were still in the 
Forsest of Sorrows.>>

In the resolution of the Storms trilogy, Vanyel, Stefen, and Yfandes, free 
of the Forest of Sorrows, go on to the Havens. As a matter of fact, if I 
recall correctly they get into some trouble for meddling too much and are 
*required* to move on. It's pretty much stated that they won't be coming 
back anytime soon--Misty has said that they are "in Bermuda."
