Message-ID: <000901c11ca6$aaf757d0$f201a8c0-+AT+-backtalk.org> Just finished re-reading "Winds of Fate".. To answer the question posed earlier about how many children the gryphons had.. Consistantly through out the book (and the ones following) there's two gryphlings (gryphets? : ) .. One male, one female.. It's only when they're setting up the plan at the end of Winds of Fate that there's a bit of muck up. (Quoting from memory not from book) Elspeth says "..and two of the babies are female, one's male.. Need should protect them." Need replies, "Oh heck, I'll protect the boy too. What do you think I am? Some sort of baby eating monster?" Then it's back to two babies. What that tells me is that Misty had originally written for three and then changed her mind (Maybe for the Hydona - Seleney comment of "I hear you also have twins?") and it got fixed everywhere but that one spot. ..As to the pregancy and more kiddies of the Gryphons.. I don't think it's actually addresses anywhere.. Darkwind does mention that Gryphets are born live.. so who *knows* what the gestation period is for a gryphon?
