Really? Now I'm curious just about the snippet: where does it show up in LHM? And, if I had to speculate: perhaps it's a variation of Monty Python's "big tracts of land" joke from Holy Grail :) Layla _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Aug 2001 17:35:36 -0400 From: Matt Neimeyer To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: change of subject Message-ID: <5.1.0.14.2.20010811172827.00a9be58-+AT+-ambriel.youth-guard.org> > >must admitt i always wanted to hear the joke which has ending "Acres and > >acres, and it's mine, all mine" it gets mentionj in LHM and owl series not > >sure about the others. > >Really? I think it shows up once when Vanyel and Stefen are talking in Vanyel's quarters and Vanyel offers Stefen a penny (or the equivalent) for his thoughts... I think it also shows up once in a similar context between Kris and Talia... IIRC it's at the lakeside and happens right before or right after the dunking while swimming. Both times it's just a reference to the joke and you don't hear the joke itself BUT I also think this is one of those things like the "Noodle Incident" in Calvin and Hobbes, Norm's wife from Cheers, or Peggy's Mom from Married with Children that if you actually found out what it was then it wouldn't be half as much fun. Half the fun is wondering what it could be and not knowing. Somewhere when they are on their way back to Valdemar. Can't remember for sure though.
