Remember, the Shin'a'nin have a God too. So maybe he's Vykandis? That would make sense if the Star-Eyed is Vykandis's consort. As for the "children of my other self" comment, I think it goes with the companion as commitee theory we had a while ago. Kind Valedamar prayed to every God he could think of so it's stand to reason that Star-eyed would fall in there somewhere... especially with Karse right there... I do think that having ALL the Gods and Goddesses being the same would be awfully pat. I think it's just because the races we are dealing with are ALL surviors of the mage of silence's (whose name escapes me at the moment) army. Excepting the Empire, who has their own separate deity stucture, and Valdemar, who seems to be a mis-mash of everyone's diety. I would like to argue that there is any patron god of valdemar. The twins are ONE religion in Valdemar but hardly the only and I doubt even the most popular. I do hope some of this made sense. I'm hopped up on cold meds right now. :) Jessie ===== The Self Appointed Vice President of the "Vote Booker for Rock Boy of Summer" Campaign ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Can I put in another plea for any available information? And in the meantime, If anyone's looking for a system that works with all the mind-magic, you could do a lot worse than to try C J Carella's 'Witchcraft' system. It's got a very good set of rules for psychic powers, most of which match up quite well with the Valdemaran mind-magic. Check out http://www.edenstudios.net/witchcraft/index.html for more information. That system would handle the mind-magic pretty well too, as well as being fairly adaptable generally. My two sheep worth... <<A: Okay, here is the scoop on the possibility of a commercial Valdemar RPG.
We have absolutely no objection to having a commercial RPG, but so far no one
has been willing to pay the money it would take to license the property for
an RPG. It's that simple. If the gaming public displays overwhelming support
to a game company for such a game, perhaps one might consider licensing
Valdemar. Licensing rights are a valuable commodity, and are essentially in
the hands of my agent; he's not going to give them away. However, I must
point out that in terms of sheer numbers, the Lord Of The Rings trilogy has
sold over 10 MILLION copies, making it one of the all-time best sellers; we
haven't even made it to the New York Times best-seller list even once. And I
absolutely do not intend to write, publish, and distribute one myself. Why?
Simple; it would take a year or more just to write it, which would mean a
year in which I would write no books, and get no income, and there would be
three less books by us out---probably an entire year without new books on the
shelves. Then it would TAKE money we do not have to publish it. Then we would
have to somehow convince stores to stock it. Then we would have to ship it,
deal with the accounting, the returns, etc, etc, etc. And all of these other
things would take time we would have to take away from writing books, because
we cannot afford to hire someone else to do it for us.>>

also i have heard no mention of misty doing a valdemar rpg in her conferance
section
( dixon's vixen ) in Baen's bar at  Science Fiction & Fantasy from Baen Books
