I've had the first one forever & have had the second one (I forget it's title right now) for a while; usually I find these by re-joining the SFBC where they seem to appear before anywhere else. My local Barnes & Nobles usually has a really bad selection of Sci-Fi/Fantasy stuff, & Borders isn't much better. In beween library sales I don't really buy books except through the SFBC. I'm not trying to sound like a commercial or anything.....:) Until next time, Sarah S __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Any others? *SNIP* > Layla Actually there was an incident at the end of the 2nd Arrows book...When Talia is on the last leg of her circuit they come across a situation where she uses the Truth Spell to get a guy to admit that he's been abusing his daughter. My take on the whole situation is that Hearlds can't really use the Truth Spell lightly; they have to have either some other evidence besides it, or it has to be a pretty serious accusation. In the Valdemar books, it seems that they only use Truth Spells when it comes down to "he/she said this so this is why I did that" and there isn't really any good evidence that they can get otherwise. For example, in the case above, the whole town was split babout accusing this guy of abusing his daughter; but what kind of other evidence could be presented. In the end it came down to "He said this" and "She said that" so when Talia was using the Truth Spell, it enabled her to make the correct decision with no doubts as to whether she did the right thing or not. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Vanyl says that he was trying to get the Vrondi to go to the nearest Hearld-Mage whenever they noticed a strange Mage in Valdemar, but he never got to that part. I think what happened after that though was that the Vrondi assumed that as long as you were with a Herald, then they (Vrondi) assumed that the Heralds knew you were a mage & were dealing with you. So since Kethry was with Roald, the Vrondi assumed that there was no point to keeping her under observation. I think that she does scare up a Vrondi at the beginning of her spell though; I'm not sure I would have to go and check....
