I have to replace most of them. ===== What's the difference between genius and stupidity? There is an end to genius, there is no end to stupidity. I'd like to add to the offer of available accommodation for anyone stuck in the UK. I'm based in Durham (near Newcastle, north of England) - feel free to mail me at beckyrgreen-+AT+-aol.com if you need somewhere to stay. I'd also like to say how impressive the comments here have been. I've been offline since before the 11th and this has been my first chance to catch up. The extent of humanity, generosity and concern for others in distress displayed here is a beacon blazing against the darkness of what was done in the USA this week. One of the hard things of life (in my opinion), is that it is only in a tragedy that we truly get to see the greatness of the human spirit. As has already been said, the heroism of those involved in the rescue efforts cannot be praised enough. Laurence Binyon's poem 'For the Fallen' forms part of the Remembrance Day services every year in the UK. Some of you will know it - I hope you will forgive me for quoting from it here. "They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables of home; They have no lot in our labour of the day-time; They sleep beyond England's foam. .... As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust, Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain, As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness, To the end, to the end, they remain."
