I am curious because I started that page, my name and my husband's are still listed as contacts for it, with completely innaccurate information these days (my name isn't even Kris Bailey anymore, it's Kris Wiegand) and I seem to remember handing it over to someone else... seems to me it would have been deleted if SOMEONE wasn't maintaining it. Anyone know? Although the computer yes, but it says that it ships in 1-2 weeks. which would be enough time for it to come out, and then be shipped to you. I would imagine that is the same thing that is happening is SFBC. It's always possible they've changed since then... I just tried setting up a page and they no longer do neighborhoods with numbers like they used to... so who knows what else has changed. Kris ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Sep 2001 03:10:50 From: "Layla Voll" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Savil's sex life Message-ID: Okay, it's a very, very shallow topic, but still, I was wondering late last night: It seems to me that in the Last Herald Mage series, Jaysen matures a fair amount and Savil comes to like him more over the course of the series, or at least over the course of the books where he's alive. In Magic's Pawn, she asks his advice on her students, etc. and they seem to be good friends, but I also get the sense that she thinks he's a bit immature, and she definitely expresses a lot of impatience with his conservative narrow-mindedness. In addition, in the whole time Vanyel is living with her, Jaysen never visits: Vanyel doesn’t even know who he is until he comes to help when Tylendel flips out after his brother is killed. In Magic's Promise, though, Vanyel, on returning home to the palace and finding Jaysen in Sayvil's room, sends out a telepathic feeler to make sure he isn’t interrupting anything. He also comments shortly before that to Yfandes that Savil's sex life is a lot better than his. Then again, he could be referring to Andy with that comment, and he might also not have wanted to "interrupt" some deep conversation Jaysen and Savil were having about Guardian business or something. So, I'm just curious: do you think Savil and Jaysen slept together, and, if so, when -- before or after Magic's Pawn? I do apologize if their entire torrid affair is revealed in the last LSH book, as I've only just started reading it. My library system tends to sell off old books that they have no particular interest in; which is how I got all the DT books, and most of the SERRAted edge series as well as old editions of various Valdemar books. The main drawbacks are 1) They are not going to look as nice as new books (indelible stamps, stickers/sticker residue and/or cover held on w/rubber band or even no cover) 2) Its harder to collect series...I have found many times books 1, 2 and 7 of somehting that looked really interesting; but I can't find books 3-6 without searching the earth! Anyway, I think that Vanyel was simply being polite, maybe even overly so, after all his time with little to no social life on the border, when he was tentative with Savil and Jays. Also (and forgive me if I'm wrong, haven't read that series in almost a year), wasn't it still early in the evening? Court had JUST gotten over, or a break or something. And little what's her face, Randale and Sherri's daughter, was still up, ( I know, I know, forgive me) so I don't honestly see how "Hm, am I interrupting sex" could have been the first thing on Van's mind, leading me to believe that he wasn't worried about it from Jays and Savil, leading me to believe that either they had no history together, or, if they did, it was short-lived. If none of that made sense, I apologise. I am, as usual, writing in the wee hours of the morning, and if anyone thinks I'm an idiot based on the above message, feel free to whip me with sheep-shaped towels. Fare thee well to all!
