I am fairly new to the list, but was promted to answer your question. Is your friend considered legally blind? Does your friend reside in the US? There is the National Library Service for the Blind and Visually handicapped...or at least, I think that's what that long drawn out name is lol. I am legally blind, with very limited vision in my left eye, and none in the right. I read Braille and listen to books produced by NLS. Currently, I am reading the Black Gryphon. The books produced by NLS on tape are four sided cassettes, so you need a special player in order to play them. That can be provided by NLS, but he will need to sign up with them first. I use a computer with screen reading software. Another alternative would be to scan the book in to the computer and use screen magnification software. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to write me off list. Hugs, Meka ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 2713 **********************************
