Well that'll have to be remedied won't it?!?... Moonstalker reaches for her Enchanted Bucket #2 TM, automatically it fills with water and then ~~~sploosh~~~ over all the newbies and lurkers and oldies in the halls of mist. Welcome newbies. hope you enjoy your time in our halls. please don't leave a mess! (see note about one liners later in my msg) and to all lurkers (of which i have rapidly become one) dust off your cobwebs and delurk!** ok, so i don't want to start with a moan but coz this msg will probably end up being quite long i'm gonna get it over with now... please DONT use one liners to respond to messages. link ideas, braid, begin a new topic or if you really have to say "yup i agree" do it in private to the relevant person. It's just courtesy ppl. please? oh and the quoted text rule is don't quote more than you're writing yourself, i don't know about anyone else but it really is quite irritating if you get a huge chunk of quoted text (especially if you've just read it yourself) that has one or two lines of new response below it. 0kay so i'm done moaning now :oP New thoughts... Whoever came up with the calendar idea is an absolute genius! i'd love to have a misty callendar, especially if it had Jodi Lee art on! she's really amazing and i love her cover art! it would mean i'd have two callendars in my room - well i couldn't abandon PTerry's calendar, even for misty!!!!! <--look 5 :) > Talamir is spelled Keighvin. This comes from p. 173 of "Arrow's Flight," > when Kris and Talia are snowed in and Kris is discussing how they are going > to have to make up their own training to get Talia's Gift under control. Thank-you :) i'd been searching for that quote for a while... and now it's appeared i have no idea why i was searching for it in the first place... possibly to prove a point to one of my friends... oh i can't remember. :o) This is the end of my message for those who don't want to read over my spoiler, though it really doesn't spoil the story at all, just a point of note... so Zhai'helleva > >I'm gonna put in a spoiler space ( just in case) > > > >S > >* > >P > >* > >O > >* > >I > >* > >L > >* > >E > >* > >R > >* > >OK, everyone was talking about Talia being in Tke a Theif, but I can't find > >the spot!!!! someone help?? > I haven't read Takes a Thief, but it seems unlikely that she'd be in it, > since it takes place before she's Chosen. It does take place before Skif meets Talia but she is mentioned, though not in person. Skif has a couple of dreams which he dismisses but ae actually foresights of when he is spying for Talia and then when they are sneaking around the palace walls to spy on Hulda and Elspeth. I can't remember page refs or specific quotes but i distinctly remember thinking "ah-hah, that's Talia and Skif, he's developing a gift of foresight"!!!! Oooh and i loved the mention of Kris in his greys, it was good to see some of our beloved characters in more depth. and Alberich! i wonder how many guessed that he was the smooth talking stranger... :) it was a shock to me when he grabbed skif when he was chasing the man from the crypt! Congratulations to Misty for yet another great read!!! :) Apologies if i have waffled more than was necessary! I can run an article in the December newsletter about a possible calender to see what the response would be. I know I would be first in line were a calender to come out and I would pay up to $30 for it. Ideas? hmm.. What about running a preorder calendar through firebird, and advertising it on the lists, & in QO and such? That way, you could know what the response would be, and they definately wouldn't be sitting around at the end of the year. Then, the next year, if you guys felt it was worth it, you could do another run, either pre-order, or just selling them. Blessings- Kristy now I'm hoping for a calender.. :) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Nov 2001 18:57:43 +0000 From: "Clair M" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Something I would like to see Message-ID: I'd certainly be interested...but personally I'd want to see a combination of both Jody Lee's and Larry's art work....but then I'm just greedy ;-) Keep smiling Clair >From: "Misty's Secretary" > >Much as we love to please the fans, if it wasn't financially viable, we'd >be >somewhat disinclined to do it. > >Comments? She was taking a quick break from cleaning up the Arena, where all the newbie-water and towels lay... A black cat lounges at her feet, regarding all newcomers with his large amber eyes. After a few moments, he stops his surveillance and begins washing himself... Totally unconcerned for now with other creatures...* Okay... About the calendar featuring Jody Lee's artwork... I'd LOVE it!! I have favorite artists for my books (as much as authors, I guess), and have always been able to associate Jody with Misty... It's a nice combo in my eyes. So I would definetely buy at least one, probably more... Oh... Hey everyone, before our esteemed Councilors start flinging flames around (Li'nia looks around quickly, making sure none of them are close to her proximity), don't use one-liners when posting. If you agree with someone's idea or viewpoint, don't send it back in a one-line response. As it's been pointed out in the past, some people have to pay for the messages they get, and would prefer quality over quantity. Also, please turn off that html setting or whatever it is that makes a lot of trash appear on the screen! Thanks! lol Thank you Layla, for finding that textevd on Kris and Talia talking about Keighven... I'd given up finding it a week or so ago, as it was bugging me who was the MO before Talamir! Okay, and now for a spoiler space for "Take a Thief"... S P O I L E R S P A C E I was also glad to be able to see Kris alive again (in Greys, which was very nice and new! lol), even if I still am not a good fan of his... He always struck me as stuck-up, and those people grate on me. Don't get me wrong, I know he was a good person, since he was a Herald and all, but he still annoyed me. I was NOT happy to see him die, though; I thought he was finally coming around and becoming a character I could really like, and then he goes and dies! Go figure... And someone asked if Talia was in the book... I don't think so... I think Skif had a dream about doing something with someone he didn't know yet, and it forshadowed him and Talia sneaking around on the Hulda-Case. And I'm glad it didn't lead right up to his meeting Talia; that's already been covered, IMHO, in AotQ. That's it for now List-Sibs! Actually my take on those foresight scenes was his adventures after being chosen out in the city, such as his visit to his uncle's house. I pictured the girl in those visions being the perception of Cymry's presence. I don't know if I'm right but that's my score. I also think the visions weren't Skif having foresight but Cymry sharing some sort of Companion foresight and Skif feeling an early connection to her, much as she knew he was meant to be his Chosen beforehand. Makes you think doesn't it? Probably the *most* likely way for this to happen would be for you to get together and pester a calendar publisher for them to publish one. If they feel that there would be enough interest, they would chase down the rights and do it. Paul --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
