Paul-
First of all, wish you and yours and Misty, Larry and all her feathered,
furred, etc.. a happy holiday this week. 

Second, since you've been SO obliging - and I know this should probably go
up on the Firebirds' "Ask Misty" - BUT I was wondering - especially as I
reread some of her books, that certain "sections" seem to flow differently
so I got curious - could you ask her:

What book took you the longest/was the hardest (or substitute "scene" for
"book")
Opposite: which was the fastest, easiest?

Okay - PAUL - did you mean the Monarch's OWN always gets a grove born, or
than the Monarch her/him self always gets a grove born, in addition to the
Monarch's own...

Cause, that could get complicated... I mean, that would imply some SERIOUS
fore-knowledge of who would become the monarch - and given only 4 grove born
(Gwena not included), one of whom is the Monarch's Own Companion, you're
limited to 3 companions... assuming they rotate M.O. duty, you've got to
have one "in the wings" incase the current MOC gets whacked. So, now you're
down to 2. That should cover the current Monarch, and the Heir - but what
about if the Heir has a kid - as in Randale's situation - he was Elspeth
Peacemaker's grandson, and became Heir only after his father "supposedly
slipped" and fell. So either his companion was grove born or not - but that
was determined long before his father died - and if the companions KNOW
who's going to be king/queen, then what happened to "free will?" 

Also - what about consorts? Did Daren qualify for grove born? (obviously
not, since we know he was chosen by Ja(y)sen).

I'm hoping you mis-typed. Then again, it could be interesting if you
didn't!!!

I hate to one-liner, but I need to respond to this. Clearly that was a logic
error on my part. Not so much a typo, as a mental blip. Clearly, as has been
pointed out in terms of Selenay, the Monarch themselves does not necessarily
get a grove-born companion.
