Message-ID: SPOILER SPACE: Just finished reading this. My verdict? Not too bad... but it could have been better. Most plot threads from "Beyond Worlds End" tied up, but she has left room to add a sequel. The inclusion of Tannim, FX and Chinthliss while nice didn't really add anything to the plot, as their roles could have been filled by any character, and they were not used to their full potential. I feel the the trouble with "BWE" and "SWaL" is that they haven't got the "heart" that the other urban elves did. I couldn't connect to the characters as much. I felt it was a pretty read, but that's all. No depth. Did anyone else feel this? The list move. You know, the one I've been talking about for longer than even I care to remember? We're now ready to go ahead. I will be (auto-)mailing each of you individually to give details on how to subscribe to the new list. I don't want to just carry the subscriber file across automatically because I know there are a lot of out-of-date addresses on it, and this is an ideal chance to clear everything up. This version of the list isn't going to go away immediately. I plan to run the two in parallel for a couple of weeks (across Christmas and New Year) to allow for people who are not reading their mail just now, or at least not as regularly. The list archives also won't be going away. I had hoped to have them all across on the new machine; they are actually there but currently not in a usable format for boring technical reasons, but they'll be integrated with the new list archives at some point reasonably soon. Please read the individual mail before hitting me with questions and so on! It should answer most of them and it has pointers to where to get more info. I got my copy of Brightly Burning from Amazon.co.uk before it was available in the shops because i couldn't wait! I just ordered the Valdemar Companion last week from the same place which means i should get is before Xmas *yippee* I have also found that the Waterstones chain is brilliant for getting Misty's books because you can get one store to contact others or even email individual managers to get books mailed out to you. I had to get 'Arrows flight' in this way as my local branch didn't have a copy and it cost me 70p for the postage. I found the staff very helpful. they will also hold books in store for you if you want to go and collect in person. it's worth a try. It is very hard to get hold of Misty's books here - I have just managed to get Brightly Burning, but could anyone tell me when Take a Thief, the Valdemar Companion and Spirits White as Lightening are likely (if at all) to be out over here? And where would I find them? I would really appreciate it if someone could help me as I always end up ordering books which costs me a small fortune!
