I enjoyed the book my self. I did not see the comparison to Di till it was pointed out here. The book did seem much more "bright" then some of the Di stories. Di tends to do so much at night and in dark places. Even the night seemed much less dark. There did seem to be a GOOD side and a BAD side in this book. Also there was the "BAD WHITE MAN" and the "GOOD INDIAN" now not all of the white men were bad and not all of the Indians were good but there did seem to be a seperation between white and Indian. I don't know if this is common out in that area. I live in the North of Vermont and rarly see anything but cows. So I don't know if it is an Us andainst Them attitude inthe area of the story. That attitude hrut my feelings a bit. I don't like being a BAD GUY because of something the early settelers did. Hell I am not even related to the folks that came over before the Potato Famine. But I am White and I do know that white seems to equate BAD in a number of books that have Indians, or other minorities. OH My, I am sorry this is so long. and that a ramble so much. May be I need one of the flame retardent suits after this. Message-ID: <12631-+AT+-servalan.demon.co.uk> Here we are, folks. The reformatted, updated, partially ISBN'ed version of the bibliography. If any of you know information that I don't, please do tell me (mail it to me at mel-+AT+-herald.co.uk, don't mail it to the list). I especially need: - ISBNs for editions I don't have (UK or US where both exist and I have only one; hardback or paperback ditto; numbers for books I don't have at all) (I know I asked for some of these before, but I've misplaced my files ... sorry...) - any additions/corrections (obviously) - any new short stories, and any missing information from the list below. As ever, I appreciate all your help. Cheers Mel. ========= Mercedes Lackey Bibliography ---------------------------- Heavily based on John Wenn's bibliography, compiled a couple of years back.
