I'm running behind, I'm afraid. I'm aiming to update the "other reading" page this weekend with all the ISDN numbers and other books from the past two weeks. I'll tell ya'll when it's updated, OK? Probably the duel was changed from to the death, to first blood maybe? I think I remember that all F'lar had to do was _win_... Anyway, then Fax/Raxol can come back near the end of the movie and wreak more havoc! Anyway, F'lar was fighting for the rights of Jaxom (if he won, Fax would cede the Hold to Gemma's child. It was only because Lessa manipulated events and thought the child was dead that she tried to assert her rights....) Ok, sorry about the AM aside on the ML list.... and IMHO-- lets drop the discussion on the Firebird type problems, rumors can be nasty! --melissa ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Jun 1995 08:36:48 -0400 From: "Jennifer S. Surely everyone has read Oathbound and Oathbreaker by now?) Near the end of the book, when T and K are in the Demon's lair (for the second time) and K looks like the bespelled Lastel, Warrl is given the command by T to kill K (to save her from being condemned to the Abysmal (sp?) plane for eternity). warrl goes for K's throat but BOTH K AND LASTEL collapse. Why did Lastel collapse? See, I originally thought that L did too because Warrl was doing damage to L's physical body, but that doesn't make sense since Lastel's real body was only "hidden" by a spell (and you will remember that T DID ask K whether or not L was now a woman (the answer was no) since she (T) didn't want NEED to get them rescuing him). ooooooooo....how's that for a complex/run-on sentence?? So who caused/why did Lastel collapse? Was it the little bald priest who did something? Marion Zimmer Bradley's new Sword and Sorceress XII (yep, that #12) just came out and Misty has a T&K story in there. She has collaborated with Elisabeth Waters (MZB's Assistant), who has written stories herself which have been published in S&S. This one is a bit different, but still the quality is good.
