About the clan inbreeding-Tarma says-I don't have the books handy-that there are a lot of adoptees, and that Kethry's children just form the core of the clan. I think perhaps she says this to Kerowyn. That would explain the lack of inbreeding. I asked this already on the usenet, but I figure y'all will know the answer(and I'll get my reply sooner!) :) I just received by Sci-fi book club catalog and inside there's a whole flyer dedicated to ML's Valdemar books! However, there is no mention of the White Gryphon! two questions: 1) do the contents of the catalog packages change from country to country? The SFBC that I've joined is a doubleday company? - thingie/do-hickey/mabob/whatchamacallit 2) How long does it usually take before new books are offered to club members? After a book comes out it takes 2-3 months (I know a hell of a lot of patience is necessary but the money saved is worth it) for a book to make it to the club. So far the only Misty books the SFBC offers are Velgarth and fantasy collaborations (ie the ship who searched I think). It is well worth it in the long run and as far as I know the listings do not change from country to country. Customer service is great though so you can call and ask (I'll probably be calling eventually to change my dorm address again if it costs you to much). I personally love bying books through the club,it gives me a chance to try books I wouldn't otherwise. I highly reccomend it--good choices, great prices and very good/quick service. Do I HAVE TO WAIT LONNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!! I get the SFBC here in Toronto as well. Have been a member of the club for about 15yrs. To my experience, books usually appear on their list at LATEST 1-2 months after it comes out in the stores. Keep in mind that the books from SFBC are considered "special editions" since they are printed up in uniform sizes. This may account for the time differential. Do I HAVE TO WAIT LONNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!! > The wait varies from book to book. Winds of Fury came out in late september/early october for SFBC and the hardback came out mid-august. Sometimes, it seems to come out within a few weeks of the hard-back, others are a few months. The wait seems to be random, even with the same author.
