I think that the major problem that i have is this...People want these books banned or whatever because most of them are discussing things and opening up other avenues of thought, discussion etc., what I mean is this..If a book deals with sex and death and what have you. SO be it. But some people can't deal because they want to teach their children themselves or believe that that is not the correct way. But then they never teach their children. I find that very sad. (Sorry >for the aborted list my brain is still a bit fuzzy this morning) I think the author of the original post is probably intelligent enough to avoid saying that Misty stole major characters from other people via Furry, which would explain the absence of these from the list. All of the characters mentioned as being from Furry are merely mentioned in _Chrome Circle_, sort of the way Spider Robinson's Ralph von Wau-Wau mentions using "bucolic" pseudonyms, as a nod in the direction of the inspiration, not a theft. Given how long Furry has been around (including some of the mentioned characters) and given when _Chrome Circle_ was published, I would tend to doubt that Furry got all that much from Furhold, although the common ancestor theory can't be disproven. -jenneke I *am* family. Average is more like 10 - 15C (50 - 59F). I have lived in Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Boston so I know these are not really cold but native Australians think they are. Children's books!" The woman he was greeting happened to be Newbery Medalist Katherine Patterson. "Yes," she answered without a pause. "And please don't ban them." (As a side note, Katherine Patterson is the author of many wonderful children's books including BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA and THE GREAT GILLY HOPKINS which have both appeared on these lists).
