Last Friday, Modems of the Queen, the Genie Online Mercedes Lackey Fan 
Club, had an RTC, <basically a chat> with Misty and her husband Larry 
Dixon.  As soon as the transcript becomes available, I will be happy to 
provide a copy to anyone who wants one.  Please, e-mail only and tell me 
whether you can accept a zip format.  Give special thanks to the Genie 
staff for allowing me the opportunity to share this wonderful, and 
sometimes crazy chat session.

Starwolf talked about the multiple shields Van kept on his family, as well as
Randale, Shavri, and Jisa.
	The thing to remember, IMHO, is that Van regularly used the power of
the nodes, and, since there was a substantial node at Haven, he would have
been able to 'recharge' whenever he was at Haven, just by being at home. Plus,
of course, using the nodes that he might find while out on duty.

	Hello I've been away a few days - someone mentioned dire wolves.

	I was trying to find a real animal to compare the kyree to in 
regards to size. Dire wolves are extinct mammals from the last ice age 
and earlier bigger than modern wolves not monsters from a role playing game.

I seem to remember also that some mage speculated that some of the 
Changelings or magically mutated animals of the Pelagirs had reverted
to older forms of the same species . Maybe Changewolves and lions reverted
into an ancestral megafauna shape??? Julie Vaux

Nyara was a changechild to start with, Hydona made some comment about the 
eyes and claws had to have been bred in.  She was also Falconsbane's 
daughter, and guinea pig.  She wasn't a construct, although she might 
have been for all of the changes He made on her.  At the end of Winds of 
Fate, Falconsbane make a reference, saying that a mage with a lifebond 
could draw power from his/her beloved through the bond.  But there was 
another type of bond.  One at the most basic and primative levels, 
created forom pleasure and pain, that he used to get the life-energy of 
his servants/slaves/tools.  It's possible that he could also use this 
bond to store that selfsame power.

Hmm- as sysop on another online system, I *can* tell you that GEnie might not
want their RTC on an internet mailing list . . legally they prolly can't do a
thing, but remember GEnie is not in the money making business to have what
was considered a major event in their summer  promotion posted for free . . .
. if a person chooses to make a log, and send it to a few folk, that is one
thing- wide banded display of said log might be another to them . . . 

Anne<-- really tired and depressed at all of the games that are becomming
necessary on the internet . . . and for ALL systems, the three she belongs to
included . . .
