If I've figured correctly, that particular statement (the end of "By the Sword") happened 8-10 years before "Storm Warning" begins. As a personal opinion, while I have absolutely no idea whether this speculation is true or not I think it would put a very neat twist on the entire series. Sort of ML's way of saying "In you face!" to us fans who've thought we've had the entire ending of Storms figured out. I mean, what author wants a story-line so simple that the readers can figure out the ending of the story during the first book of a trilogy? I guess we'll all have to wait another year to find out for sure. There's a fairly new one up here, too, and while the music selection is good (everything from Anonymous4 to Zeppelin:-)), the books aren't really worth the trip. B&N or Borders are better, Waldenbooks better still. The only books that I noticed in Media Play that I haven't noticed (or looked for) at Waldenbooks were AD&D manuals, but I go real gaming stores for those anyway.:-) -jenneke I *am* family. (Michigan) If you go to the Roseville store and talk to Barb, she is the new area manager for books, and she will gladly order Misty books for the SF section. A lot of the management team are coming from a music background, because Media Play is a part of Musicland, and they aren't too familiar in books. A bonus is they discount hardcovers 15%, and paperbacks 10%. That's what happens when you go on a two week vacation. I'll add my tuppence worth. I agree with Jeanne about Media Play. They recently opened one in Savannah, Georgia where I was on vacation. Their S/F section really bit dirt. I didn't look at anything else except their card collection, which wasn't too bad. Thanks to Starwolf for the heads up on the Belgarath book. Now I'll have to go to the bookstore for that and Storm Warning. And I was going to clean house today. What a shame! After all, I figured, B&N usually has the new books before most of the other stores here in town. Whimper. Nothing. "Sometime this month" they said. Whimper. Whine. Sniffle. So while you all already own the book, and are discussing it, I'll sit in my little corner whimpering till I can get the darn thing! Aaack! I hate New Yorkers (not really, but you always seem to get stuff first). Anyway, if B&N doesn't have it by Friday or Saturday, I'll try Borders - which is a really long trek from me, but it's certainly a worthwhile place to go. On another note, definitely off-topic: Since I couldn't find Storm Rising a few days ago, I picked up Belgarath the Sorcerer by Eddings. If you are an Eddings fan, or if you really enjoyed the Belgariad, pick this up! It's huge, but it honestly met my every expectation! I can't say that for very many books. I loved Belgarath in the Belgariad, so this book is definitely for me. I'll go back in the corner and nash my teeth some more. Hold your horses, Joan. My comment about spoilers was not meaning to imply that what you posted _were_ spoilers -- which wasn't the case, and I apologise if it came out that way -- but an attempt to remind people that there were an awful lot of listfolks out there who would not have been able to get the book yet, and that it would be prudent to put large spoiler warnings over discussion of plot etc. As I understand it, at present, Storm Rising is out in the US but with somewhat patchy distribution at the moment, and as far as I know it's not out in the UK; I haven't seen it in UK or import edition here yet. > Oh, P.S. Yes, Natoli is still a major character. There, was that a spoiler? No. "Natoli does this, that and the other, and then this happens" is a spoiler, or would be if I were naming actual acts and places. Anyone who _does_ post spoilers is laying themselves open to being emailed a blow-by-blow account of the last four episodes of the second series of Babylon 5, including what happens to XXXXX and the XXXXX of XXXXXX.
