I know there's been some discussion about posting the whole chat to the list would be frowned on by the genie people, but a synopsis/review could be viewed as kind of advertising (see what kind of wonderful things you find out about on Genie!). Since it doesn't look like sending me text is a possibility, a synopsis *would* be nice... ob.misty: I'm sooo tired that I think I know *exactly* how Vanyel felt at the beginning of Magic's Price...aaaaargh... -Stephanie <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< I can send you the file in plain text no uuencoding, no zip file, no mime encription, if you want that is? What you will have been sent is a file with an attachment, if you are under a unix system, save the text as a file then unencode the file by doing ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 29 Aug 95 05:27:56 -0700 From: steph-+AT+-escher.mbi.ucla.edu (Stephanie Wukovitz) To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-vanyel.herald.co.uk Subject: Re: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Message-ID: <9508291227.AA18775-+AT+-escher.mbi.ucla.edu> THanks to those who have sent me copies of the GEnie chat! I'm happy to say that I have now read it! There is no need to send any other copies to me. I was quite tired when I sent my mail to the list requesting it, so if anyone took offense at my "whining," sorry... Oh well, off to work out, yes, I'm awake at 5:30am local time, yes I got up at 8pm last night. I figure if I push my sleep forward a few hours every "night" I'll be able to simulate a morning person by the time classes start in a month... I have it, but can't read it. I don't mean because of encoding. I don't know how anyone can read one of these things. I guess I don't care to wade through all that crap just to get a few tiny tidbits of info. Blech. Anyone who is a bit more (tolerant? patient? fill in your choice here) please let us know if there's anything really interesting in there. I am trying to assemble a complete set of Tamora Pierce's Lioness series for the daughter of a friend of mine. However books 2 and 3 are out-of-print/stock. The publisher doesn't have them, nor do the warehouses of any of the major bookstore chains. In the Hand of the Goddess Tamora Pierce The Woman Who Rides Like a Man (stupid title!) Tamora Pierce One has a yellow spine the other a purple spine, but I can't remember which is which. They will probably be in childrens/young adult sections. I am also looking for a used copy of "Yaril's Children" by Marcia J (MJ) Bennet. If anyone comes across any of these books I would love to buy them.
