It is on the tape Moonlight, Magic, and Melancholy (well, those are the 3 words in the title, I think, though I don't guarantee that's the right order.) Misty wrote the words, Leslie Fish wrote the music, and Heather Alexander sings it. (It's also on the Oathbound tape, I think, with Leslie Fish singing it instead. The music is arranged differently as well on this version. They are both interesting.) > PS -- Not to start a new thread or anything, but does anyone else out there > have/enjoy Misty's music/filk in general? Yes to all of the above, though I must admit I'm more a Leslie Fish fan than anything else. Yes, and lets not forget, how many wars were started by the catholic church because they went out to mission and the people there didn't want to convert to their ways? Not to mentio just how many wars are started over religion. Then there is the fact that, oh we are sorry that you are dying from AIDS, but if you would have listened to us in the first place and would have gone to church you wouldn't have been gay and then you wouldn't have gotten AIDS., so you are still going to rot hell. And why must there be a middle man between me and my creator/diety? Sorry don't like that one at all. I side with jennke on this issue. Religion is my hot button. Until one has had the luxury of being discdriminated against, by the church, I don't think that some will understand. Sorry if I am rambling and not making any sense. i am a little hot...... I don't agree with most of Roman Catholicism, either (that's why I'm not Catholic). I'm my own person, not a brood mare who has no say in my freedoms, and I don't believe that all gay people are going to rot in Hell because of their preferences, and I don't...I can go on and on. But I think that what Aphael was trying to say is that she felt that this was a list that had some tolerance, that would accept the beliefs of a person, even if they don't agree. Such a condemnation of what may be her faith is a bit harsh, IMHO. Stacy Hunt DuVall duvall.23-+AT+-osu.edu "Life is a big wild crazy tossed salad, but you don't eat it, no sir! You live it! Uh, hey guys? There is no one, true way, remember? Just for the record, I am Catholic. That does not mean I hate homosexuals, or that I'm a member of the pro-life movement, or that I think AIDS is God's way of punishing drug addicts, hemophiliacs, or gays and lesbians. It does not mean I believe all non-Catholics are going to hell, or that I worship idols, priests, or Pope John Paul II. It means that I have chosen this way to deal with the supernatural, spirituality, the unknown, or whatever you choose to call it. I have chosen to be Catholic because I was raised that way, and I think many aspects of it are beautiful. Don't blame religions, though I will admit that they are the cause of most of the pain and suffering in the world. Religion will always be with us. Why not work to solve the problem, instead if wasting time arguing about who or what caused it? Having said that, I suggest we get back to the real topic. 'S e do bheatha Kaatje P.S. I don't know if this is proper Netiquette or not, but I thought some people might be interested. If you live in Minnesota, you can participate in the Stand Against AIDS on the morning of Saturday, October 14. The entry fee is $15, and all proceeds go to AIDS research. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Oct 1995 21:47:15 +0000 From: Alan Fleming To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-vanyel.herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Storm Warning(God Question) Message-ID: <9510090902.ac01904-+AT+-relay-3.mail.demon.net> Anne wrote: > On Sun, 8 Oct 1995, Alan Fleming wrote: > > David writes: > > > I thought that it was the ordinary clansmen that could only go > > > to the moonpaths at night and sometimes only on a full moon. Oh, agreed - not the same thing at all. However it still shows the point I was wanring to make: That Kal'enedral *can* call on the Star-Eyed during the day. Message-ID: <9510091134.AA01655-+AT+-vanyel.herald.co.uk> Yes, folks, I'm back. We seem to have had a reasonably trouble-free week (at least in terms of operation) with the exception of the weekend I left; I need to try and figure out quite why the uninterruptible power supply thinks it's OK to take nights and weekends off (*boggle*). A public thankyou to my mother, who I had to talk through the process of taking down the machine, switching cables and plugs around, and rebooting. (For those of you who didn't know, which I guess is most of you, my office space is above my parents' shop. Makes it easier to go away when you know there will be someone around to fix things if you can tell them in minute detail what to do.) Hong Kong is a brilliant place, and you should all go there. Take lots of money though. :) We now return you to your regularly scheduled discussions.
