Misty because of her treatment of gay characters: one of my gay apartment 
mates recommended her books, and I'm almost certain he wishes Vanyel was
real and living in New York/New Jersey as much as I wish Susan Ivanova 
was.:-)

Can I come back to play?? One small word of advice? NEVER take a course
SWOPRN to be an easy one by the professor . . .especially if you have not
been in school for years ::sigh::

Well, I finally read one of the digests sitting on my HD and had a few
comments to make- if I am late to reply, sorry! :)

the Chosen is doing everything they can, but still needs help- that is part
of what their partnership is- helping out the Herald and being his second set
of eyes, hands, etc . . . .

I'll agree- it seems it is only not given to folk to add to a plotline,
otherwise, it seems everyone has it.

Have to drag my books out- but I dstinctly remember that she CAN hear Rolan
when deep in trance- what I take this to mean (and it is my thought only
-chuckle-) is that if you are NOT a mindspeaker, you have a sort of a
blockage- meaning the Companion can FORCE you to hear them- thier power being
so great in that GIft, but it is very tiring, and probably not without other
cost.

and mindspeaks her.  We never know whether she has a trace of a
mindspeaking>>

Yup- this got me in a LOT of trouble when I kind of assumed it menat Kyree
spoke aloud like gryphons- but maybe that is something only Kyree can do- and
their bonding with another makes a tighter link, as it seems not to activate
any other Gifts, as the Companion bonding does, and allow them to mindspeak
freely.

<<Likewise (oh drat - can't remember his name!) the Rethwellan
prince who lifebods to Selenay.  He did not show a sign of a Gift at all
until all the sudden he got Chosen on the battlefield and started having a
little mental chat with his Companion. >>

Well, we didn't know he DIDN'T have a gift either- it might be it was a
latent Gift, and being Chosen boosted it to allow it to work- he was so
stunned by getting Chosen and meeting Selenay that I don't think it
registered he was talking to a horse . . -grin-

Now that the course is over- I'm getting off the digest so I can come play
more often once more! -g-

Mel- this is really for you . . . I just re-read the newest digest . . .how
do I get off the digest and back on the regular list? I know, I should have
saved the List Admin thingie- but I've had two major crashes since I went to
digest, and anything like that is long gone to the place all good data <<and
calculators>> goes when the place it is stored crashes . . . . . .

I'm so impressed.  I would really appreciate it if someone might be able to
unearth an address for a distributor of this tape.  I know this is going
above and beyond the call of duty, but this tape has been an Unsolved

Dave, have you seen the brief Anne Rice reclaimer (my word) at the beginning
of the tape of IWTV? She practically begs her readers to give the movie a
chance because when she watched it, it swept her off her feet (paraphrased
liberally).  I think she saw the movie and was embarassed; because it was
good, she wanted to negate her earlier reverse promotion of the movie.  In

 re: twin bonds decreasing w/distance: i know most do. I'm saying 
some don't, whereas all <except maybe Talia and Rolan's> 
Companion/Herald bonds do. Therefore, they're at least as strong as 
Companion bonds are.

re: the number of lifebonded Heralds: i've always thought that people 
w/one bond might have a propensity for other types. Lendel is an 
extreme case: twin, Companion, and life-bond.

I played a game in 6th grade on computer that took place in the trees, with
houses and temples, and people could glide around w/ packs and learn to
shape trees ect... there was an underworld also. No one knew the rules, but
it was lots of fun. I knew it was based on a series of books, but didn't
know what ones. Have been keeping an eye out since then. Are these related?
Couls these be the books I've been looking for?

In magic's pawn, vanyel's voice is compared to tylendel's and it is
mentioned that vanyel's is the deeper voice. I don't remember if theexact
type is mentioned.

The reason I questioned is because until now I have had a hard time finding
Misty fans in Western Canada.  I've lived all over western Canada(Cold Lake,
Red Deer, Victoria, Trail and Kamloops and I haven't found any others exept
the 4 or 5 here.

        In the book that deals with what you say above(AofQ?) it says that
Valdermar prayed to every God he knew.  It also said that all of the first
companions where grove born until a point years later when the Companions
started to foal.

	I liked Belgarath, but Silk was always my favorite character. I 
like his humor and his sarcasm, and  especially like the fact that he

Actually, I like all the spy-type characters (Sadi, Velvet, Porenn), but 
Silk was always my favorite.

        I just watched 1' of snow fall in two days.  The last 6" just
finished falling and my Bus just about drove off the road because of the
white outs.  People's Propane Gas tanks froze at school today when they
where in school and snow plows are a week behind.
