Well, if there's anybody out there reading today, hello to you.  I won't be 
seeing the next digest until Thursday (tomorrow my baby turns 1, and I'm

     I've gotten hooked on trying to find and read all of Mercedes Lackey's
short stories.  Has anyone besides me discovered "Medic" in _Battlestation
Book Two: Vanguard" edited by Bill Fawcett and David Drake?  I really like
the character of Althea Morgan in that story.  Very much a Wise Woman and
mentor figure.  
     Do you have any favorite short stories?

Yes, actually. I like the Skitty stories in the Catfantastic books. (adited
by Martin Greenberg and Andre Norton) Wish my kitties were telepaths. :)

If you liked that, you might also like another series by Katherine Kurtz
called Knights of the Blood (first book in series has the same name).  It
personally wasn't one of my favourite series of Kurtz (I prefer Deryni and
Adept) but as with all her books, it was a good read, and well worth the
effort.  If you didn't guess by the name, it also has a vampire basis to its
storyline.

yes its that time again :)
does anyone out there have designs for hearald uniforms. A club I'm
involved in is having a masqerad(sp?) ball and people come dressed as
characters from books, moves anything that is sf or fantasy.
any good quotes describing the whites worn in queens arrows winds or storm
would be much appreciated

as i'm in the sca I'm hoping to modify it after the event to make it look 
"period" aka something before 1600
