My name is Becky, I just subscribed to this list. I love MErcedes Lackey and all of her books that I have read so far. I've read all of the Velgarth ones, except for Magic's Promise and Magic's Price. I'm reading them now, my mom lost her copies and I couldn't find any for a while. Anyways, not many people I know like her, with the exception of my mother. I am 15, a sophomore at a performing arts high school. I love playing piano, dancing ballet, talking, and of course reading! I was made extremely curious in Storm Warning when Karal had to cross the Iftel border, it almost seemed sentient. I have heard very little about Iftel in all the books I have read. To me it was almost like a much, much stronger version of the vrondi that the Heralds use. It could examine him and label him as a priest, just like the vrondi can tell the heralds. It has puzzled me for a long time. If anyone knows anything, or even has other ideas, I would love to know them. I am 24 years old and I don't know very many people who like Mercedes either! That's why I started looking on the internet. I have read Magic's Pawn, Promise and Price, By the Sword, Oathbound, Oathbreakers and I am now reading Arrows of the Queen. I just found a library that has most of Mercedes Lackey's books so I am very excited to get to the rest! Vanyel is my favorite character. He made me wish I had a friend like him! I am trying to get my step-mother to read the Magic series so she'll let my step-sister read it. She is 12 but a very advanced reader. She's already reading books I had to read for college!
