For those of you who live in the US picture a demented turkey with short stubby wings and you'd be close to visuallizing Skandranon on the cover of the British paperback of Black Gryphon. I wrote to Orion publishers back in June after I met up with 5 other misty fans in Nottingham for the weekend. To date I have had no response from them. Does anyone know the reasons behind the different art work? It's not just for misty's books either I recieve a catologue from D.A.W. in NYC and when I see the covers here in the UK they are for the most part not a patch on the American ones. On another point we need contributions for OutKingdom[ The British chapter of Q.O.] Those of you who get Q.O. will have the address of the editor [Joanne Thwaites aka Herald Y'larna Finnarith( I think I spelt that right)] We'd be most grateful for anything you could send us for Spring edition. The firecats are the previous Sons of the Sun "reincarnated", correct? I also remember at one point in Storm Warning (I think) that one of the heralds realized that the companions may be deceased heralds when Karal mentions that the firecats are deceased Sons of the Sun. In Oathbreakers, Tarma is thinking to herself and thinks "Interesting. The heralds dont even realize what the companions are." I think that's how it went. So, this might refer to the fact that the companions are guardian spirits, or it might refer to the fact/theory that the companions are deceased heralds. You decide. -Mannaheim ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Jan 1996 09:26:11 -0800 (PST) From: "Patrick S. Firstly, you join Queen's Own, the official Misty fan club. Along with a newsletter, you will can ask for persona requirement sheets on Heralds, Tayledras, shin'a'in, mercenaries (they should be finished by now), healers, bards (different universe; don't mix'em!)and if you already have been recognized as a Herald, you can then work on herald-mage status (forgive me, but my shift key isn't working well). Queen's Own membership costs $8 ($9?) in the u.s. and canada, and $10 ($9?) everywhere else, for one year of newsletters. You can have as many personas as you wish, but only the first one will be recognized in the newsletter. i don't have the address with me (qo-+AT+-home, me-+AT+-school), but some helpful soul may be willing to provide it! *********************************************************************** * Why would I want my mind back? I recall reading "Mero is from Three Rivers." although this quote might not even be in the book. It's late in the day, and I just went through economics class, so I'm not really thinking very well anymore. -Mannaheim ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Jan 1996 14:00:18 -0800 (PST) From: "Patrick S. I used Kal'enedral. But those are the Sworn Ones, just as the Leshya Kal'enedral are the spirit warriors (Tarmas teachers.) My apologies. It's driving me mad, but I cannot remember the name for the spirit/pledged clan. Maybe someone could post it. -Mannaheim ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Jan 1996 14:02:32 -0800 (PST) From: "Patrick S.
