To answer the persona question,  Lahundra  is my alternate persona,  and she is
a(gryphon) woman.  It helps to have a back-up,  just in case the main one gets
killed off or needs help.  Being a trondi'irn,  it's also nice to have a gryphon
about to practice on.

P.S.<Heard faintly from the bottom of the Gorge of Eternal Peril> I think you
guys are being way too hard on Larry.  I like his artwork. Without the actual
pictures of the gryphons,  all I'd have for reference are those horrible
'traditional' designs.  And some of us are not so gifted with imagination (me
for one).   Anyway,  I got a card from him (I think) with my latest Queen's Own,
so I have to be nice to him(though that's not why I';m saying I like his stuff.
I really do like his stuff). Even so,   his pics could do without all those
computer-added sparklies,  sometimes they get in the way of the artwork...
Oh,  look!  A cute little bunny.  Now I've got someone to keep me company.

	PPS.  If this should seem a little outdated,  it's was supposed to be on
the list a three days ago.  The original posting must have been Eaten by
gremlins,  so I'm sending it again.  It seem my postings get eaten a lot,  since
only about half make it to the board.
	
	PPPS  This is now the third attempt at mailing.  If this has been coming
up on the board,  please mail back and tell me.  I don't get  anything that
comes up after the hundredth message each day.

BTW, a general apology to anyone recieving bounced mail from me. Because 
of the snowstorms (2 feet) currently binding the D.C. area in Heraldic 
white, school has been closed since Monday (I write Sunday, on a borrowed 
computer.) At any rate, since this was decidedly unplanned, I didn't 
unsubscribe from my lists as I generally do, and my mail has been

Well, me-+AT+-friend's, books-+AT+-home, but I think (I'll try to quote here ;) 
Vanyel says every mage shares "a line" with every other mage he's done 
magic with, but he (Vanyel) has a line to every Herald "just by virtue of 
them being Heralds. This might be in Magic's Promise, when he contacts 
the operative in Karse? Hmm.

About YKYBRTML.... I've been conversing in pidgin Tayledras for some time 
with Anne Cross and Jaguar ('ware claws ;)  Two years ago Anne and I 
started A) using "Zhai'helleva" to end conversations and b) calling each 
other "shayana" (what Starwind and Savil use for "beloved" in the 
platonic sense)  So this Xmas, many of us are gathered at Anne's house. 
It's a big parental party and she's in the next room. We want her 
attention. Other people call: "Anne"; "roomie"; etc. I say, in a normal 
tone, "shayana." Head comes around door. "Yes?" 

Everyone collapses laughing. Definitely TML. ;)

One thing has always bothered me with this. Tarma states in Oathbound 
that all her spirit-teachers have been dead at least 100 years. WoC 
probably isn't more than a few years  after Tarma's death - maybe 
extraordinary events allow Leshya'e Kal'enedral to "go out into the 
world" much sooner, or perhaps they only have to wait 100 years before 
they can teach a student?

	And to all:  Do you get Queen's Own?  I got that card I mentioned in the
latest issue, and was wondering if it went out to everyone.  It has a picture of
Skan on it,  and is signed "Larry"  and,  I think "W".  I presume it's supposed
to be a Happy Holidays card,  but I'm left to guess:  Since the part where the
message would be has been torn off. I would presume we all got one,  maybe even
some not cut in half.  Tell me,  I'm dying to know.

	Actually,  as of last Saturday,  I_do_have a Coconut Companion in my
gryphon grooming kit.  I don't take it out in the presence of actual Companions,
though.  Turns out,  Companions don't have real good senses of humor  when it

Perhaps a reason Kethry and Warrl didn't come back is that they aren't
Sword-Sworn (Isn't that another name for what Tarma was?  Its been a long
time since Oathbound).  

On the snow note---all of ours is melting here in Columbus.  All in all, I'd
have to say that snow is prettier than soggy black ground.  At least now the
snow is at the perfect stage for making snow balls :).

C'mon, that's rather harsh.. Julie was perfectly within her rights to ask

As the person who started the whole swallow debacle (not to mention that
ongoing illustration thread), I have the disconcerting feeling of kicking
idly at a pebble and watching the ensuing avalanche engulf three villages..
For that, I apologise. :)

That said however, I like reading Jaguars and Gyrfalcon's and Shadow-lovers
(to name but 3) posts.. and they are at least tangentially misty related.

Now for the OBMisty's (for the newbies that's an abbreviation used to

non-topic postings, or at least deflecting some of the ensuing levin-bolts).


Re Illustrations: I never meant to imply I didn't like the bulk of Larry's
work - they are, after all, at least partially his characters - just that
I didn't like that illustration of Firesong.

Just finished re-reading (for the umpteenth time) Chrome Circle - was
anyone else terrified that Shar was doing a Final Strike when they first
read that last fight scene?

	But Tarma was the only one that was swordsworn. IIRC all the 
swordsworn come back. As for the others, everyone can't be reincarnated, 
can they? Or maybe Kethry is still alive. Don't mages live a lot longer 
than ordinary people? I think in one of the books it says that using 
magic preserves a mage. So Kethry might still be alive. As for Warrl, I'm 
not sure how long Kyrees live, or if they are even reincarnated. Maybe 
they a long life span?
