Gryphon germs! > > Long, long ago, in a faraway place, there lived a young knight (pronounced keniggit), this young knight was a brave young knight. He was sent on a Holy Quest by God to find the long lost White Coconut. He had heard rumors of the WHite Coconut all his life, it was said to be on a deserted dessert island. This island was a wonderful place, the mountains were chocolate, and the rivers were caramel. This was the only place that the White Coconut grew. So the brave young knight set out on his Holy Quest. He travelled across many oceans, and found many deserted desert islands, but never came across the deserted dessert island. He looked all his life for the White Coconut, but never found it. Before he died, he told all of his sons that they had to carry on the Holy Quest to find the White Coconut. They searched all their lives, but never found it. And so the Holy Quest was passed on through the years, and many brave young knights have set out to look for the White Coconut, but none have found it. So to this very day, the White Coconut is on the deserted dessert island, just waiting for a brave young knight to find it. Its been a long time since Oathbound). On the snow note---all of ours is melting here in Columbus. All in all, I'd have to say that snow is prettier than soggy black ground. At least now the snow is at the perfect stage for making snow balls :). Stacy Hunt DuVall duvall.23-+AT+-osu.edu Brain: "It must be taxing to be such a boob." C'mon, that's rather harsh.. Julie was perfectly within her rights to ask (whether or not everyone complies is another matter) and her request was courteously worded. As the person who started the whole swallow debacle (not to mention that ongoing illustration thread), I have the disconcerting feeling of kicking idly at a pebble and watching the ensuing avalanche engulf three villages.. For that, I apologise. :) That said however, I like reading Jaguars and Gyrfalcon's and Shadow-lovers (to name but 3) posts.. and they are at least tangentially misty related. Now for the OBMisty's (for the newbies that's an abbreviation used to mean "Obligatory misty-related comment.." - useful for disguising those non-topic postings, or at least deflecting some of the ensuing levin-bolts). Re Illustrations: I never meant to imply I didn't like the bulk of Larry's work - they are, after all, at least partially his characters - just that I didn't like that illustration of Firesong. Just finished re-reading (for the umpteenth time) Chrome Circle - was anyone else terrified that Shar was doing a Final Strike when they first read that last fight scene? (And to any Kitsune vixen out there.. I'm verrrrry unpredictable. No? Was worth a try..) Cheers, Kerry.. who's now changed his mind and wants to be a Kitsune not a hawk-bro. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Jan 1996 16:29:27 -0800 (PST) From: Becky Anne Christensen To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-vanyel.herald.co.uk Subject: Re: the bells, the bells (esmeralda) Message-ID: On Sun, 14 Jan 1996, Catherine Osborne wrote: > On Sun, 7 Jan 1996, Becky Anne Christensen wrote: > > > It seems interesting....but f course they're not after me. > > Wait. They forgot the E. But oh well, I'm not that scared, how could they ever find me? I have no powers for them to detect, I am overall, quite ordinary. After all, where does a red fish hide? In a pond full of red fish of course:) Always remember, the best defense against logic is ignorance. I'll be waiting. IIRC all the swordsworn come back. As for the others, everyone can't be reincarnated, can they? Or maybe Kethry is still alive. Don't mages live a lot longer than ordinary people? I think in one of the books it says that using magic preserves a mage. So Kethry might still be alive. As for Warrl, I'm not sure how long Kyrees live, or if they are even reincarnated. Maybe they a long life span? (:*BECKY*:) ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 318 *********************************
